Hi guys,
I'm newbie.... I have been told that my home page is content thin, and if I want to rank really well in the search i need to have more relevant content on my homepage - the site is only new 2months and I can see we are now at 39th place in the search, if i make changes to the home page design and add more content will this effect this current ranking?

Hi Alec,
Generally speaking, yes, if you add quality content to your website it will achieve better rankings. However, there is a multitude of factors that go into search engine rankings. Whoever advised you to add more relevant content to your website is steering you in the right direction.
If you list your website, the community may give you some tips on improving the content quality.

Hi Ray-pp
Thanks for your feedback! My website is www.zenory.co.nz
Changing the home page to add more content won't really be too much of an issue at this point especially in the early stages?

Content optimization should be a continual process and ever improving. As you receive more traffic, business, and analytic data you will continue to improve your website content quality. For example, once your site has been live for a few months you may notice new traffic trends and previously unknown topics and keywords that resonate with your audience - you'll want to capitalize on these findings and incorporate them into your site's content.
Since your site uses a big, beautiful image and it's probably important to your branding, you may want to consider adding content below the fold.
Some ideas could be...
- short snippets of information about the services you provide
- testimonials from previous customers
- profiles of the psychics
- bring a summarized version of the 'how it works' information to the home page
I hope those help.

Yes! That definitely answers my question, and my thinking re- below the fold line is exactly what I was thinking!
Thanks again Ray-pp!
