Help with new site revamp SEO LOST!!!
-
I decided to go fully WP on my band agency website to help with SEO.
I have lost loads of rankings even though we redirected old pages to the new urls. it means i am loosing lots of business atm so I am desperate to find out what I thought was a better SEO design than before.
We target geographical and genres in search and they have turned to poop too!
Would anyone advise me what I have done wrong and if I need to create some more sales pages to help? site is http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk
Thank you, thank you in advance guys...

If you have entirely new URLs and set up 301 redirects properly, it usually takes about 2 weeks for the rankings to bounce back.
Also, its hard to tell if you did anything wrong during the transfer since we cannot see your old site.

Great! I will have a sit down and wait then! In the meantime I am creating shed loads of geographical and genre landing pages to try and push it along a bit! Thanks, maybe I do still have a business after all!

Daniel,
I've worked on a few site migrations, and it does take some time for rankings to pick back up. One recent one that I worked on took about 3-4 weeks to get relatively close to where rankings were pre-migration. As long as you're positive you used 301 [permanent] page to page redirects and not 302s, the rankings should eventually get back to where they were.
If you tweaked any of the titles from what they were previously, that could also have something to do with it.
I would also hold off on creating a lot of geographical and genre landing pages that weren't there previously. Let Google have some time to crawl the site as it is without needing to constantly index more content. In the meantime, it may be worth working on getting some fresh links to the new site while the redirects/rankings fully take.
Give it some time. Good luck!
