Widget Impact on Visits and Other Metrics

If we place a widget on some other websites where anyone simply search for a topic and related questions appear to him there itself.

Then in that case, the search request is treated as a visit or not? And if yes, then how does that impact engagement metrics of the site.

Depends on how is your widget developed. If your widget requests only for the contents of the results, then you won't see any hit in Google Analytics (for example) but you will in your access logs. If you happen to serve an iframe instead with the results, then you can embed your Analytics code into the iframe a track anything you want.

To sum up, it all depends on how is your widget developed.

So Lets say I embed analytics code into the iframe. Visitor filled up the details in the widget and click submit button then it will record that as a visit. But how much time spent or pages/visit will GA recognize.
