Changing URL - Ranking Disappeared?

Hi All,

I named a page URL /plectrums/ within the back end framework.

But then decided to change it to /personalised-plectrums/

I resubmitted a GWT sitemap and 301 redirected plectrums -> personalised-plectrums

My ranking for personalised plectrums has disappeared and has not come back does anyone know why this is? Or is there something I have missed?

It can take time for Google to catch up how long has it been?

Give it a couple of weeks for Google to re-crawl and work out the new home of the page.

Unfortunately its a bit of a waiting game which can be a problem for altering your site I'm afraid.

Agree with Chris. You need to wait for 3 to 4 weeks. I would suggest you not to make any changes in the meanwhile. Wait and watch for the things to settle. If you do not see any improvement, you can get in to digging what actually went wrong and other SEO forensics.

Right.It will take some time.Most importantly if your site is not so big it will takes more wait.MATT CUTT in a video said clearly that the 301 redirect pass the same link juice.
As far as the method that you have mentioned I do not think so that you did any mistake with redirecting.
