'duplicate content' on several different pages

Hi,

I've a website with 6 pages identified as 'duplicate content' because they are very similar. This pages looks similar because are the same but it show some pictures, a few, about the product category that's why every page look alike each to each other but they are not 'exactly' the same. So, it's any way to indicate to Google that the content is not duplicated?

I guess it's been marked as duplicate because the code is 90% or more the same on 6 pages.

I've been reviewing the 'canonical' method but I think is not appropriated here as the content is not the same.

Any advice (that is not add more content)?

I'm not sure if this is the best practice but I use lots of images that are the same on different pages.  I will typically give them the meta tag optimising to that pages title.  This means I'm never going to rank in the images but that's not what I want, I want to rank for the other terms and sell stuff.

Are those pages linked together with hyperlinks with exact match for the other pages so google understands what they are.  SO I have a main Veneers page and then a composite veneers page and a resin veneers page.  I had to deoptimise composite veneers to 'composite restorations' so it didn't compete with 'veneers and the resin one to 'resin bonding' and now we're doing much, much better.

It's not canonical - that's when the pages are identical but with different URL's or tracking elements in the URL and you want google to just show one of them.  Have you tries consolidating them all into one page?  That's also something I've had huge success with.  Why should users be pinged around to different but very similar pages?  Just bang them all up on the same page?  People will scroll and use on-[age navigation and it might help with googles 'comprehensiveness signal' for that consolidated page.

Just a few ideas to test.
