Social Visit in the dashboard

Hi there,

the social visits in the dashboard look like are collected just from facebook social network.

In fact if I check the social report in Google Analytics the number of facebook referrals sessions is the same of the number of Social visits from MOZ Dashboard.

What's the reason why?

How can I resolve this problem including visits from Linkedin, Pinterest and other social network in the Social visits in Moz Dashboard?

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out. I can see that you've written in to our support team as well, I'll share the reply here for anyone else who has this query :]

Basically we collect the social traffic data directly from GA. Any discrepancies are usually attributed to either the wrong GA code being added to the Moz Pro campaign.

If the code on your campaign matches your site and the numbers still look a little off then this could be due to the way we collect this data from Google Analytics - every 2 days we request 2 days' worth of data, and then those numbers are summed to give weekly totals, and then those weekly sums are totaled to give total monthly visits. That means that if there was any kind of hiccup in the way GA was reporting your visits on social media when we were trying to collect that data, or if we collected it at a weird time and not all the data was available, our totals can be a bit off.

Unfortunately, we aren't able to display the GA social visits by source so your best bet is to check these figures in GA.

thank you for replying.

Something is unclear. From Analytics I have sessions from different social network (including Facebook) in the same days and in the same time slot. If there was any kind of hiccup in the way GA shoul be impacted as others social networks as Facebook. But not. It looks like Facebook was immune from these possible hiccups.

Social visits for multiple Moz campaigns all show "0". I've checked GA which shows social visits from Twitter, Stumbleupon, etc and I've checked that the GA number (eg UA-42970474-1) is the same in the Moz campaign. Why is Moz not showing some of the social visits GA is reporting?
