HTTPS Campaign Settings

Hi
Google advises setting up a new property in Search Console when you move from http to https.
Do I also need to add a new campaign in Moz Pro for the https version?
Thanks

You definitely need to verify the https version of the site in Google Search Console. I would also make sure you verify all of the versions: https:// https://www http:// and http://www which are all different versions. If you have submitted a disavow file previously you will need to also upload a new disavow file for your new https version, as well.
As for moz, I would go ahead and set up a new campaign, as it's a different URL.

Thanks Eric
I already did the Search Console stuff. My question was specifically about Moz and I've now followed your suggestion and set up a new campaign. Thanks.
As far as Google is concerned it's interesting that you need to set up a new property in Search Console but not necessarily in Analytics as far as I can see. I have updated the url in the Analytics settings but it's the same property as before.
Thanks

Hi there!
Sounds like you've already got a campaign underway, but just to clarify, you don't actually need to start a new campaign if your site is moving from HTTP to HTTPS. As long as all the redirects are in place and we're not being blocked by security features on the site, the tools should be able to follow along and keep up with the changes.
You can check out a blog post on SEO tips and tricks for using HTTPS over here: https://moz.com/blog/seo-tips-https-ssl
Hope this helps!

That's good to know, it'd be a shame to lose all that historical data due to a secure migration.

Ah, that's the definitive Moz answer I was looking for. Thanks Tawny.
Yes I read that blog post. Very useful as always.
Many thanks
