Guest Blogging good or bad?
-
Hello Mozzers,
Matt Cutts once told that guest blogging is a bad way to get links, then he relativized it again and said it's okay. We all know Google doesn't want to count those links, what they want are editorially given links.
Now my question, what's your view on this topic? Do you still use guest blogging as a link building technique?
Best regards,
grobro

There isn't a black or white answer here, as it really depends on how guest blogging is done. If the content is 400 words that is put through a content spinner and 40 versions of it are posted on 40 sites that accept any content on any subject, then yeah, it's bad. If it's content that is relevant to the hosting site and their audience, is unique, presents new information, is helpful for the readers, and generally requires a decent amount of time and effort to put together, it's much more likely to be good.

Good guest blogging is still good. Bad guest blogging is still bad.
Sorry if that sounds a bit glib, but it is true. If you are prepared to guest blog anywhere for a link then it is not good. If you are going to write a good article on a quality site that your audience uses then that can be good for many reasons.

As others have said, it depends on how you do it!
Like so many things in life, eh?
