I listened to a "White Board Friday" today by Cyrus Shepard and anchor texts.

It was talking about getting Unnatural and Natural ways to building anchor texts. I was wondering if this applies to Twitter Cards?

      Thanks

I personally would think no. I think Google has a metric they use for social media sites which is out of the realm of their normal linking metric. Because a good post can gain a lot of retweets on what are essentially worthless user profiles, but be completely natural. I honestly would not be surprised if it came out that google was ranking social media accounts in a method like author rank or page rank. I am almost betting they are actually, because companies like Moz invest in products like follower wonk which also give a quasi social media rank.

The way Google look in to links and anchor texts is different than how they see and measure your social media score. If the tweet is good with nothing optimized in it, it will get lots and lots of shares and retweets, where as a completely optimized tweet failed to create a buzz in the arena.

I believe when using twitter or any other social network just think about people instead of Google, algorithms or machine and this way thing will get natural automatically and you will see the buzz you was ideally looking from your social efforts.
