We see that our Domain Authority is hovering around the same mark for over a year now. I have 2 questions -

How important is DA? Does it affect your Google Page Rank?

What would ideally be the things that we need to keep in mind if we are to increase our Domain Authority?

      Thanks

Hi Prashant, have a fligth to catch..so will be quick..

        What is DA:

        http://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Nice infographic that shows different ways to increase DA:

        http://www.searchenginejournal.com/50-ways-to-increase-the-domain-authority-of-your-site-infographic/77281/

And a nice one from Neil Patel:

        http://www.quicksprout.com/2014/05/19/5-practical-steps-to-improving-your-websites-domain-authority/

Domain authority is directly related to the quantity and quality of your backlinks. If you increase your DA by backlinks that have good Google PR, then yes, you are likely to get your PR a boost. Good luck.

        Best regards,

        Devanur Rafi

Great insights from Devanur! I also want to quickly add..

As your DA or PA gets higher it takes additional effort to increase authority. In other words, it is much easier to boost your DA from 10 to 20 than it would be to be boost your DA from 80 to 90.

Great responses so far! I would like to add that Domain Authority is a metric created by Moz, and not a metric created or used by Google. There is likely a correlation that a higher DA will help you do better in search engines, but it's not a metric we're getting from Google or sending to them.
