Creating passes with scannable bar codes?

Not really an SEO question, but thought I would ask since this board is filled with tech gurus and innovative thinkers:

I am hosting a large party for my business. I would like to email party invitations that have bar codes, then scan them to easy and quick entry. What is the best way to get this done?

that would be ideal yes, to prevent people from printing multiple copies and handing them out to friends

There may be other ways to do this but since I am no techie, you can either tediously create unique QR codes with messages that correspond with a spreadsheet you can cross off as they are scanned.

Or use an application like TicketSpice that provides the scanner and unique barcodes for you. Below is the website that provides some more information on the app. Hope this helps!

You could always use a ticketing website like Eventbrite - http://www.eventbrite.com/mytickets/
