What are the best tools to find the links gained on (monthly basis) by your competitors?

MOZ is a great tool for that, it has linkscape built in. You can enter 3 competitors into your campaign to track them. If you really want to get indepth in tracking them, you can enter them as an actual campaign, then you can track their ranking in the SERP's too.

Thank you for the response. Yet I'm looking for a tool which monitors new links, not old links. My preference would be to get updates on a monthly basis.

The "Just Discovered Links" tab on OSE is really good too. I'm using my ahrefs tool less and less.

I would run this every week, since this tab only goes so far back.
