In David Mihm's article on Local Search Ranking Factors, he lists "HTML NAP Matching Place Page NAP". What is this exactly?

        Name.
        Address.
        Phone Number.

Just make sure that your website is matching your Google Places page and any other business directories you list in. The consistency helps ensure that you are the specified business.

        Makes sense?

        Mike

          Hi Doug,

Mike already answered your question actually, but I just wanted to add a few extra tips...

          • Title tag: try to include your +Local Business Title and Location
          • URL: also try to include the city/town name on your website's +Local "landing page"
          • Also try to add your exact +Local Business Title in the H1 tag
          • Code your contact info according to schema.org

Hope the above helps a little?

          Cheers

          Greg

Thanks guys, this does help. I completely understand NAP, but wasn't sure what was meant by HTML NAP Matching. I wasn't sure if this was referring to a specific rich code snippet or something like that which I believe is what Greg is referring to.

            Thank you!

            Doug

              Hi Doug,

Yes you are correct... it just refers to the "landing page" on your actual website from your +Local page.

              Example:

              https://plus.google.com/113365835129585106743/about?hl=en

              http://www.jhbathrooms.com/showroom/blackburn

              Cheers

              Greg

What if your client uses telephone tracking. The telephone numbers will have the city/state suffix, but it will always be different?
