I literally had to stifle a loud laugh, this caught me just right. (And the fam's asleep). It cracks me up at where people can have their heads .There was a post on SEL about the "Pandas in Hiding" (Mine do not steal!!!) (Unless it turns out someone used it before me.) Marie from moz here had made a reasonable statement and some clown goes off putting her down for having had a profession before SEO. I am just reading going, what? He never addressed anything about the Panda change and just was a jerk. Unfortunately, I stooped to his level and well, said a couple of things. 
So, I come here, the first question I see I open, and BOOM, You nailed it.

Come on guys, gotta get some KARMA, thumb Tom UP.

This is a good question. I often read a well thought out blog that makes a ton of good points, provides an excellent didactic, etc. and then I see 53 thumbs up and boom, one or two down. I wonder, "What was it that made it a downer for you?" Now I know.

Tom's right though...some people just hate everything.

I don't thumb down a lot of posts, but when I do (wait, is this a meme?) I usually write an explanation as to why.  I'll thumb down a post if I think it is dangerous advice.  And I'm pretty liberal with giving thumbs up.  I figure we're all volunteering in here and it's nice to get some recognition for helping out!
