-
Hi,
We have a holiday home rental business in Italy (Umbria). At this moment the language of the site is dutch and we targeting at the dutch and belgium market. We now in the fase of developing/adding 2 more languages, german and english.
The url structure is going to is/be.
dutch version (live)
domainname.com/nl
domeinname.com/nl/vakantiehuizenEnglish (en) version (dev)
domainname.com/en
domeinname.com/en/villas
domeinname.com/en/villas/name-of-the-villa
domeinname.com/en/apartments
ectGerman (de) version (dev)
domainname.com/de
domeinname.com/de/ferienwohnung
domeinname.com/de/erienwohnung/name-of-the-ferienwohnung
domeinname.com/de/ferienhauser
domeinname.com/de/ferienhauser/name-of-the-ferienhauser
ectI have some registred some keyword rich domainnames like
vakantiehuizeninumbrie.com (nl)
ferienwohnungumbrien.de (de)
ectquestion: Is it a good approach (seo wise) to point the keyword rich domainname to the specified landingpage. By example: point ferienwohnungumbrien.de to the page domeinname.com/de/ferienwohnung ?
mille grazie!

Hi Remco
Taking one of your examples; http://ferienwohnungumbrien.de/ this is a parked domain name, there is no website behind it.
As such, redirecting this to your main website, e.g. to domeinname.com/de/ferienwohnung will provide zero SEO benefit. There is literally no strength to be passed from your parked domain to your website, whether it be an exact match domain or a random domain.
The only benefit would potentially be that you could market http://ferienwohnungumbrien.de/ as your website (which would be 301 redirected) though I wouldn't even recommend doing this as some inbound links would inevitably be pointed here and some link juice lost through a 301 redirect.
So in summary, zero SEO benefit to be had from pointing those parked domains to your main website. Though may be worth hanging onto them for any possible future plans, so keep them and simply 301 redirect them in.
Hope that helps,
Simon

I would do a 301 of ferienwohnungumbrien.de to your german landing page on the com-domain.

Simon is correct, there's no benefit to a 301 with domains that have no established web site or domain authority which it appears these two do not.
I would definitely 301 them to their respective language's landing page.
