Looking for good ways to earn a customer's trust
-
Hi All,
When approaching to sell goods (especially valuable luxury goods) small businesses encounter the trust barrier. Even if a potential customer finds what he is looking for and wishing to make the purchase he may very well stop and exit out of pure fear.
I am looking for ideas on how an unknown (yet solid and registered) company can gain that trust. Please note that the amounts in question exceed $1,000 per sale...
Thanks

I would suggest showing as much information as possible about your business such as address, phone number photos of your offices/shop and staff. These elements combine to show that you are real people running a real business.
In addition I would certainly try to show user reviews of your products, ideally using schema.org mark-up to show the review ratings to Google before the user has even reached your website.
Obviously ensure that your website uses suitable SSL encrypting and that your design is clean and doesn't look like it was slapped together in 10 minutes so the user has a pleasant experience and never doubts your credibility.

You need to earn their trust use - reviews , trust symbols, money back guarantee, And encourage people to pick up the phone and talk with you.

What trust symbols do you recommend?

Some great answers already given. In addition, some visible signs of Social Trust can also help. Does your website have a good amount of Facebook Fans? Can you embed a tweet from a fan that endorses your company?

BBB
Mcafee
Some sort of ratings like reseller ratings or trust pilot
