Get a new domain?

Hey,

I have a niche website which ranked quite good in the beginning (especially image search). I published new posts every other day and also new links. Since around six months this site doesnt rank at all anymore (page 5) and I'm not sure if I should get a new domain, republish the articles and 301 all links.

Would that make sense or is it better to start a new site from scratch?

I would say that it's better to start a new site with new content because you probably have been hit by Panda or something like this or lost High value links to your website and content.

Building a new site and new contents will give you another option in your mitigation plan and can lead to discover new opportunities.

Of course, you can think of moving you stuff to another domain, but it will lost links and/or transfer the problem to the new site if there was a problem.

It sounds like you have a bit of an investment in this site.  So, I would not walk away from it.

Have you made any changes, done a redesign, changed your URL, changed your category names, created new navigation links, any other changes?

If I had a site with a lot of good content and a lot of images I would have somebody smarter than me look at it before I toss it away.

I agree with EGOL's suggestion to have an expert look at the situation. We really don't have enough information here to be able to tell you for sure what has happened to your site, and what the best course of action is.
