About to get my competition domain, how what I can do?
-
Hello, I'm trying to get a domain from what it used to be my main competition, if I get this domain can I forward the domain to my website? because they have good local ranking that I don't have and also a lot of links.
I don't really want to use that brand name, I just want to take advantage of the links they already created if that possible.
Or can I do something else with the domain or just buy it and keep it so nobody else can buy it?
Thank you

Sorry about the title misspellings its supposed to be "About to get my competition domain, now what I can do?"

Yes!!! If you somehow purchased or obtained a competitors domain, you should definitely use a 301 redirect to have all the links that they've accumulated point to your site.
As far as Local (Google Places). That will be a little different because the Places Page tend to be associated with the actual location, and the business name. So that one won't be as straightforward of a deal. It may involve taking down the Google Place page, which could push you up in Local results.

Thank you for your response! Yes I think is a good idea to tell Google to remove that listing because I'm not going to use it.
