Any new link building strategies?

What are the latest link building strategies that people are using? Is everyone sticking to the tradional link request and if so- how? or are people focusing on guest blogging?

I'm still using both strategies. I use this tool to find new leads for both: http://linkprospector.citationlabs.com

Obviously these are among the harder links to build, but they're certainly more sustainable than the quick and easy methods that are out there. We've seen several of those (cough cough...blog networks) go by the wayside lately.

Guest blogging - my rule of thumb is that any blog that i would considered has to be online for over 2 years and has original content.

Link requests - Always work. Best part is, you no longer have to explain why, but you have to make it personal for each request.
