In order to improve my google rank, I recently changed my url from http://www.helpwithassignment.com/nursing-assignment-help to http://www.helpwithassignment.com/Assignment-Help/nursing-assignment-help
-
You used the word 'stuff' - don't stuff keywords anywhere, the search engines can often tell - and they're getting better at it. Also, the more keywords you have in your URL or title, the less value each other keyword has. nursing assignment will have less value than it did before due to this, and because it's now further away from the beginning of the URL, although according to Matt Cutts in a Google video this isn't something you should stress about too much.
I'm afraid your exercise was a bit pointless considering you already had the keywords you added in your URL anyway. We live and learn!

Not quite, he will get a little bit from the order of keywords, phrase rather then broad
-
Nothing to correct there Alan, if you read exactly what I wrote.
I said that it won't improve rankings, which it won't, sticking to the question being asked.
I "didn't" say that it will decrease rankings being one level deeper, only that it won't improve them. Thus makes no difference search wise, as per that video link you posted.
-
Sorry, I did misread, I apologize
PS he will get a little for phrase rather then broad, but your right, not worth the effort
-
No worries, thank you Alan.
Indeed, it could help a little with phrase rather than broad as you say, although the main phrase was in the original URL anyway.
I agree, not worth the effort here

-
ouch
http://www.helpwithassignment.com/Assignment-Help/nursing-assignment-help
in URL
help: 3 times!
assignment: 3 times!
keyword density on page is WAY too high - google basically says "ok you really want to push for "assignment" and "help" huh, we see that because of your keywords stuffing and over optimization for those terms. Instead we'll rank you lower for these.
This current strategy worked several years ago.
-
I'm not so sure - as irvingw says it is surely obvious keyword stuffing.
-
i think he will get away with it,
I have a simular page but it ranks wellFirst i had a different domainname, when i named my controller seo-perth, later got the domain perthseocompany, then without thinking i made a page seo-perth, it ranks well, but i wouldent do it again.
http://perthseocompany.com.au/seo-perth/seo-perthWhen you think of it, you could naturaly have hats.com/mens-hats/cowboy-hats/leather-hats

Thanks for your response Alan. Just read on Seo Moz -
Minimal Subfolders in the URL
Explanation
The quantity of subfolders in a URL appears to correlate to rankings. URLs with fewer trailing slashes perform better than those with more. Additionally, search engine representatives have recommended that excessive, subfolders in a URL string may be a signal that the page is very deep in a site's structure and may be less valuable/worthwhile to crawl, index and rank.Do you think i should go back to the previous link or just wait and watch. Traffic has dropped drastically

Please suggest ...

FYI - I just reversed the changes I made to the website and to my delight, I am back to where I was on google

Thank you guys for your suggestons:)
