  • Hi Gareth, Whatever schema.org markup you're using on that page, you should have the option to include an "image" property to define the image. Hard to get more specific without seeing the page unfortunately. But maybe check out the Schema.org list of recognized types and see which feels like the best match for the content on this page (although as a rule, category pages are a little tricky - usually you'd be using product or article markup on each individual item in the list, so I'm not sure where an image would fit into that).

  • Sitemaps are limited to 50MB (uncompressed) and 50,000 URLs from Google perspective. All formats limit a single sitemap to 50MB (uncompressed) and 50,000 URLs. If you have a larger file or more URLs, you will have to break it into multiple sitemaps. You can optionally create a sitemap index file (a file that points to a list of sitemaps) and submit that single index file to Google. You can submit multiple sitemaps and/or sitemap index files to Google. Just for everyone's references - here is a great list of 20 limits that you may not know about. 20 Google limits

  • Thank you. Do you think that a normal fluctuation can last more than one month? And what do you meas with "I would add more "readable" content"? Can making the texts currently hidden visible help the ranking? Thank you.

  • Hi newwaves, Your site has a lot of low quality links with exact-match anchor text like "seo companies in qatar", "web development qatar", "web design qatar", "digital marketing companies in qatar". In fact, just about all of your links are spam. As an SEO provider, I'm sure you are aware that these types of links are exactly what Google's Penguin algorithm targets and they are not going to help you in the long run, even if you have seen some benefit in the short term. I don't know if you have disavowed these links, but I would say that the Google algorithm is doing it's job here and has identified the spam tactics used on this page and is choosing not to rank it anymore. You should do a full backlink audit asap and disavow all your low quality links. You should do this before you receive a manual penalty. Cheers, David

  • Hello, If you want to use review markup on the main listing page, this page should clearly display the review content that you're referencing with the markup. It's part of Google's guidelines: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/reviews#review-snippet-guidelines  So yes, you will need to display some reviews on the main listing page. Hope this helps! Thanks, Matt

  • Trying to rank a homepage for all your keywords is a fairly difficult task in any industry, and usually service, product, and blog pages are used to target certain keywords so that you aren't putting some much pressure on your homepage to rank. The fact that you have "tens of thousands" of links is a little concerning to me, but if you believe they are all legitimate then more power to you. I would try to increase the content quality and quantity of the homepage and if possible decrease the amount of anchor text links as Google may be seeing this as spammy.

  • There is also brand copy beneath the brand logo introducing the brand on each page. Does anyone have an opinion on wrapping the H1 around the brand name beginning the paragraph? i.e. Brand Name produces such and such products for such and such industry.... and so on

  • Check with your hosting company as well. Asking Google to deindex the pages will be a temporary fix if the files still physically reside on your website. A reputable hosting company will secure their servers so content like this is less likely to be added.

  • If the pages you are deleting do not have a related page, you can just 410 them out. So if a 301 pointed to these pages, you can safely delete these redirects. Should be no SEO issues with minor 4xx's.

  • Hey Nitesh, To boost your local rankings, you definitely want to set up hreflang for all the locations and, possibly, languages (once you will have any other ones except for English). Also, depending on your business model, it's recommended to set up Google My Business for all the locations you have. Cheers, Martin

  • Hey there, It usually takes up to one month but often times about two weeks. Once, you disavow the bad links they will still appear in Search Console The main reason is that Google just won't count them against you. Have you been successful with disavowing since May? Cheers, Martin

  • Given the fine responses to the question, both vis a vis SEO and without considering SEO, do limits exist to the length of the H1 tag similar to the Title tag, which many say to should be between the max 65 and 70 characters to display in the SERPS? Finding different ways to describe the same subject in a succinct way can be difficult and time-consuming, so I wonder how much time to spend on different H1 and Title text -- not to mention FB and other metadata for that page. Tangentially, I have noticed that shorter Titles often have the site name appended, and I am not sure that is always a good thing -- especially when words can be duplicated. For example: "Why Live in London" can have the site name "- London Accommodations" auto-appended. Thank you

  • If you are using hidden pages to manipulate google, yes this is very black hat. You should only no index pages that you do not want to come up in search results. Examples would be a thank you page after filling out a contact form, a login page, and shopping carts.

  • Which idea did you decide against please? Surely having more paths would work better for breadcrumbs would it not? Are you saying you think /courses/girls-only looks more spammy than /girls-only-course/ ? Thank you

  • Thanks for your reply Dan. It's an International site. Our target audience is from India, Middle East countries, and East Asia. Google has indexed https version and looks good, but after all the on page optimization also, the traffic not going up, however, we are ranking for more keywords than ever. I've attached the screenshot of traffic stats from Jan to June, if that will help pinpoint issues. Thanks again lAJf0
