  • Yes, it does matter. For some in-depth background about duplicate content, see this blog post by Dr. Pete. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-in-a-post-panda-world

  • That will work, but don't try to game it too much.  I optimized a site where there was a ton of account info before any of the content.  So I used Absolute Positioning and moved all of that content to the bottom of the page, (but still displayed correctly).  This allowed the most valuable content and links to be crawled first. Not sure if I would try to move content about the nav. Your most important links will be in order of appearance to search engines.

  • Does using a service like linklicious.me help? Is it recommended?

  • Hi Pedro, here are some reasons why only one page may be crawled https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-only-crawled-one-page. If it isn't any of those reasons, send an email to our help desk at help@seomoz.org and we'll see what's happening. Keri

  • hmm, i'm not sure what you mean by google impression reports... from Analytics? or Webmaster tools? Either way, your backlinks still seem to be present. If you had been penalized you would usually see a drop in traffic for specific keywords.

  • Hi Sara, Where you host really isn't considered a major ranking factor - there are many UK sites which are hosted in the US and they don't have issues with ranking. I'm assuming you're not suffering with poor loading speeds - if you are - go ahead and change your hosting but I wouldn't worry too much about whether that's UK or US You've not said whether your domain is a .co.uk or a generic (e.g. a .com / .net etc). If you do have a generic domain I'd recommend that you geo-target via Google Webmaster Tools - see http://www.seo-chicks.com/1463/geotargeting-on-the-same-domain-using-xml-sitemaps.html I hope this helps, Hannah

  • Don't forget you can add your sitemap to your google / bing etc webmasters accounts.

  • Hello Jarno, Since all the links that are coming to your site are related to the website's niche it should not cause much issue with Google. The links are not being repeated in the content so you have your quality content in tact and a link at the end does not show your webpage like a page full of links. And I agree with Alan that the "at the worse the links will negate each other". Just be careful that your website does not look like a directory for camping sites because then your meaning will change entirely.

  • Hi John The first line removes the extension The second line adds them back in a specific order IE you want PHP to execute first. If you got it going that is what counts. Good luck, Don

  • Then you get to double your workload. Two domains, two shopping carts, different and unique product descriptions and titles. Depending how just how talented your it/dev staff is, you 'could' serve the entire product line from a single database to both domains. We've done that in the past on a few projects. but it requires someone that knows what they are doing to get it right.

  • I think everyone hit this on the head but I had one quick point to drop. It might be good to search over the sites as well to look at the most valued sites that are linking to you with 404 errors. I would try to then reach out to them personally and ask if they could update the link. You often can get a specific anchor text or a link to a page deeper within your website. Good luck with it!

  • Hi Gary! Thanks for coming to Q&A with your question. I second Vahe's excellent response. It is in the client's best interest that you help them set up their own account, and be sure that they have in writing what their email/pass is for it. Chances are, they will work with many different marketers over time, but their properties should always belong solely to them. Cheers! Miriam

  • I had a look into this at one point, but then google was saying set your 'View All' page as your canonical, but our page 1 is already well indexed. I think you sohould only use these tags if google is having a problem with the strusture of the pages and if it is showing maybe a page for your keyword.

  • Can't they change it to a human-friendly form? I don't think it's beneficial for SEO. Google strives for being human-friendly. Your client should move into the same direction.
