Moving a blog from unique domain to root /blog/ but on 2 different servers? HELP!
Try using http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/. It's very easy to install and use. Then go http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/doc/examples.htm#proxy to get the code to create the reverse proxy. Just remember, this won't change any of the links in your content, so if they're full urls(with the domain name in them) then you'll end up getting links back to the subdomain.

What happens if my site was down for 10 hours?
I had some of my sites down for 24 hours, and no problem at all. But if your site is down more times, then this can be a problem. Good luck!

How is a dash or "-" handled by Google search?
Great answer, very helpful! I believe I will continue to primarily target AK-47. Now if Google would just penalize my competitor for his black hat link building.

Can Google read onClick links?
Yes, there may be some tricky JS that can fool them, but they have got very good at it. I should add, every link leaks link juice, even if the result is that the linked page does not recive it, such as a no-follow or a JS link that is broken or appears broken to the SE

Domain authority and keyword difficulty
I have a new domain and I am beating pages with much higher page ranks / DA etc Typically in the niche I am targeting if I use the Keyword Difficulty tool i get an average of about 50% - I think this tool mainly uses DA / PA to work out the difficulty %. After I will do a Google search and look on the pages for mentions of the keyword's I am going to target with my pages / posts. Often I find there are few mentions or 1 exact match mention in the content with the page title being something different / not exact match. I will then build a page which is targeted specifically for the keyword and optimise for it, I don't over do the optimisation - if the other pages only have 2 mentions of the keyword in the content I would normally build a post with say 3 - 5 mentions. I have noticed when going over 5 keyword (aprox) pages tend to rank poorly or rank badly then crawl back up the SERP's slower - this could be due to the domain on the site being 1 month old. I also only build quality content that is relevant to the search term, this should prevent the pages dropping from the SERP's (I hope!). Obviously if your niche has highly optimised pages and a bunch of links pointing at each page then this method is not going to work. Hope that helps.

Webmaster Tools 404s
that seems to be a common problem, that GWT is slow in removing old 404s, even if they haven't been present for ages. i have that problem particularly from urls that have temporarily shown up on a xml-sitemap. 6 months later, they're still there... guess as usual, we'll just have to wait for the bug to be fixed...

When is it safe to remove 301 redirects?
Hi again Daniel, Notices are nothing to worry about - if you take a look at the message from Roger and the Mozzers above the blue tabs in the Notices section, you will see a little explanation: "Notices are interesting facts about your pages we found while crawling." They are just there to make you aware of things in the background that might not be obvious You will find a short explanation on each of the other sections too. Incidentally, lots of 302's is not such a good thing - which is why they are in the "Warnings" section instead of the "Notices. Another little thing to be aware of is the tiny blue "Help" link toward the top right of each page in the Pro Tool. Whichever page you are on, this link will take you to the help documentation for that particular feature. Some good stuff in there and a great way to get to know the tools when you are starting out. If you have questions about your campaigns, you can also email the Help Team direct - help at seomoz.org. It's worth it just to see the awesome thankyou video when you answer the feedback survey!...or register for the weekly Welcome Webinar with Moz staff. Hope that helps, Sha

Schema Tags Configuration - Ecommerce Category Pages
I believe it's because of the itemscope="itemscope" call, which is saying that the area is another item. Leave out the ="itemscope" part. Example: [Blue Denim Castaway Flip Flops](/shoes//xsl:value-of select="translate(/page/subCategory[Name = $subCat]/Name,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ ,','abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz-')"/>/blue-denim-castaway-flip-flops/300) £30.00 [[image: mens-blue-castaway-flip-flops-mtfmcabu.jpg]](/shoes//xsl:value-of select="translate(/page/subCategory[Name = $subCat]/Name,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ ,','abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz-')"/>/blue-denim-castaway-flip-flops/300) Hope this helps!

How long to reverse the benefits/problems of a rel=canonical
Yeah, if the .com is blocked now, there's really no point in putting 301s or canonicals over there, because they won't do anything (theoretically, at least). You could put self-referencing canonicals on the .co.uk site. It would at least be a nudge to Google to ignore the old canonicals (to the .com). Other than that, you may have to wait and see. As Alan said, you could 301-redirect the .com and then stop blocking it. Properly redirected, no visitors should be able to view the old pages. In some ways, that's even more reliable than blocking. Update: Sorry, realized that was a bit confusing, as I sort of told you that a 301 was pointless but then to 301 What I'm saying is that you could stop blocking the .com and THEN 301-redirect it. If it really is fully blocked, 301-ing it probably won't have any impact (although it won't hurt anything).

I Bought AD on a site, am i being penalized for it
How can i tell if a link is considered spam or not? I have personally submitted my site to a bunch of social bookmarking sites, I don't know if that's considered spam or not..... For instance, is this spam : http://it.savenkeep.com/anticipazioni-chrome/ I'm going through my backlinks through WMT and half of the sites have been deindexed or taken down, but the ones that remain scraped articles i wrote for article submission sites and added it to their sites... why would G penalize me for this... i have no idea who these people are.... for instance : camelcrochet.info <--- who are these people, how did they find me, and why are articles i wrote posted all over their site? Thanks for the help...
