Googlebot take 5 times longer to crawl each page
Thank you for having a look I made no strcutural changes around the time of the issues starting. On the third graph in GWMT yes there is was a spike on the time spent downloading at it is still a lot higher than previously. I have add an image of it below. There were two google update about two weeks later the latest Panda and the new EMD. Most of the content has been written by myself from my own experience etc. There are some pages that I am in the process of removing / changing that are the same as other sites. Until 4 months ago the layout was in fixed size nested tables etc, I am just about getting my head around CSS etc., to try and drag it in the 21st century. ALKBp.png ALKBp.png

Easy Fix for 404 Errors foe Newbie
Since you're using WordPress, Sean, I can strongly recommend the Redirection plugin. Once it's installed and configured, it will catch things like the URL you changed, and automatically redirect to the new URL you created. (You'll need to do this by hand i the plugin for that particular URL though, as you've already changed it before the plugin could catch it.) In addition, it provides an easy interface to create redirects for situations like your other one where an incoming link needs to be easily repointed to a different page. It will even inform you right in your WP dashboard when a new 404 error has been discovered and allow you to easily fix/redirect it right there and then. Far easier than having to dive into your .htaccess file every time you need to make a minor change. It should be noted though - if you have a huge number of redirects to create, THAT should be done in htaccess as it processes much faster using fewer server resources than a large redirect list in the plugin. Will rel canonical tags remove previously indexed URLs?
Thanks. I think I will monitor for the next 2-3 weeks, and if there still is a lot of unwanted URLS with parameters in the index, I will start requesting removals.

How to know if a seo company is legit and would produce results?
It's not about traffic increases necessarily, and although traffic is great, basing results on that metric alone will land you in trouble. You need to know, specifically, what keywords and keyword clusters will convert with your customer and resonate with your customer when they visit your brand. I would look at the portfolio of any SEO company before proceeding with services. I would ask for references. I might check the local BBB.org to see if they are listed I might check Google to see if they are well known, have results themselves, are talked about positively.

Pages crawled is only 23 even after 8 days??
Hi Aditya, I actually went in and did a quick crawl of your site and it only found these 5 pages: http://www.practo.com/ http://www.practo.com/ https://www.practo.com/health/signup https://www.practo.com/health/search?searchfor=doctor https://www.practo.com/health/search Obviously we've gotten past those 5 pages if we've found 23, but the way the site is set up may be taking us longer than normal. I'd say give it one more week, then perhaps you may want to also look at other crawling tools to see if they're able to get to your pages. If it's a consensus that they're having a hard time, you may want to add some paths from the home page to get into deeper content. Hope this helps! Jen

Quantity of products
Hi James, I don't think removing unsuitable products would be considered negative. Do each of these product pages have unique content? Do they rank? I would guess that a phased and gradual approach would be the right way to do it. Mash

How to find and fix 404 and broken links?
Hi Yoseph, If you liked the broken link checker Chrome plugin then you could check out another Chrome plugin that the company I work for created. It's called Redirect Path and I use it all the time. It's a handy header and redirect checker that flags up any 301, 302, 404 & 500 errors on any page you visit. Hope that helps!

301 Redirect without specifying base domain?
Just to bring closure to this thread, I never found an answer for this and simply ended up using the common syntax for 301 redirects in htaccess. Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.yoursite.com/newpage.html

Post vs page in Wordpress?
Posts and pages are different in a number of ways, not just in the URL structure. The back end handles them a little differently and you can display and organize them differently on the front end. In general, posts are for articles, while pages are for the more "static" foundational parts of your site like product information, FAQs, Contact Us, and so on. As a side note, long URLs like www.domain.com/category/subcategory/page-name.html are not necessarily good. Don't get too many layers deep.

Https enabled site with seo issues
That depends on what you define as a problem. If you use relative URLs in hyperlinks in your website and Google enters at an https page then it will assume that other pages crawled to are also https. Thus https pages will be indexed instead of http. This can cause problems in the long run. I would set links in https pages as http absolute links e.g. in the sign in page.

Can Google Anlaytics Segment By Time of the DaY?
I think (haven't tested) you would just do hour containing 12 That would include in the segment any visits within that hour.

Converting Old Web Site to Wordpress
I've done several upgrades to wordpress. I'm assuming you are going to keep all the same content, so make sure the url structure matches. Easy if you are already something like /page-title. Doing that in wordpress is done through /wp-admin/options-permalink.php and your page or post titles can also be individually modified. If those all match up, you shouldn't have a problem! Make sure your theme is quality and loads quickly.

Duplicate exact match domains flagged by google - need help reinclusion
A few more questions Are they all hosted on the same server / IP address? Are they all registered by the same domain registra / same company or person? Is the content duplicated too? Or have you Spun the content? Are the links low quality? Do the sites all have the "same" links? (Have you submitted multiple templated sites to the same directories etc...)
