  • Sure I think this page on title tags sums it up pretty well. Note the suggested format: primary keyword - secondary keyword | brand So the suggestion "Life Coach - Boise, ID | Bob Weikel & Associates" fits this model. Keyword 1->Life Coach Keyword 2->Boise, ID Brand->Bob Weikel & Associates This format keeps it under the recommended 70 characters, fits in the two primary keywords and brand, keeps it user friendly in the SERPs and displays concise relevancy to the contents of the page. The thing is, if you have a page that's well written and valuable to the user for each topic/service you provide, its easy to create title tags that fits this model eloquently. This doesn't mean you can't target more than one keyphrase to a page - there can be other ones in the body of the content of course - synonyms and variations etc.  But pick one version that works best in the title -Dan

  • Thanks for reply. I did not have a chance to got to MozCon. What topics were most popular? I haven't used Press Releases in my SEO that is why I am kind of questioning that method.

  • There are other options.  For example they could post your article and then use the rel="author" and rel="me" to attribute the content to you.  Also, rel="canonical" might work. I have not used these so I can't give implementation advice. You would have to get an agreement that makes placing those attributes on their website is a condition of content use. When people ask me to use my content, I invite them to link to it as you suggest.  I don't give my content away. Far to valuable. A few of my competitors give me content because they want to have visibility in front of my traffic.  These competitors have a message to share rather than something to sell.  They also get some traffic from my site. These are competitors who are not "gunning to beat me" but just looking for as much visibility as possible.

  • Although it isn't the best - Yahoo Site Explorer is pretty "fresh" and should show them pretty quickly.

  • I think the search engine wont able to track this link at all ... When i tried to browse my site using the google bot (Google Webmaster tools) , my site always detected that google always have the javascript disabled... However , what you showed us right now is only the script , where is the anchor link that will call this script? Most often people would do something like this on the anchor text Click Here In which case the search engine would be able to successfuly tracked the links back to 'xxx.com'

  • I think that's what probably happened. They kept the link up until it got verified, then they dropped it. Most of the link directories don't do any follow-up after the initial approval.

  • Domain authority can have a big influence on page authority.  Its not a direct correlation, because page authority depends on a lot of different inputs on a page level (internal links, external links, information architecture, perceived value).  But just because a site have good DA doesn't mean that all internal pages get a nice PA. Depending on the value of those three backlinks, three could be all you need to boost a PA.

  • Hey, It's a little old, but Rand did a video about this that might help. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/whiteboard-friday-domain-trust-authority Ultimately it comes down to how important your site is seen as been. If no one is talking about you, then you're perceived as not that relevant. Links are conversations, so the best probable metric to increase your score.

  • The easier it is to obtain a link the lower it's value. Great links are like the Marine Corps Officer's Sword.... "Earned. Never given."

  • If you have a message to spread you should post it everywhere you can and get everyone everywhere to post it for you. However, if you are making money in a specific niche and you distribute content for your topics it is possible that the content will be posted on sites that will outrank you.  And, if your content is really good and those sites post it then they will attract links that could have gone to you. Those are some of the reasons why I never give content in my topic areas away.  You can do whatever you want.
