Page grader says we are keyword stuffing but we arn't. Page source shows different story.
There are already a lot of good answers here, so I just wanted to jump in and clarify a few points about our software specifically. We don't use a cached version of your site from Google, we crawl the pages directly each week with our own crawler to get the data for your updates. If you make changes between the updates, you should see these reflected in the data the next week. In the campaigns, we do count both the plural and singular versions of the keyword because the major search engines see these as the same, as well. If you do a search for LED Bulbs in Google, it pulls up results for both the singular and plural version of that term, so we want to reflect that in our reports. (Please note that the current version of the stand-alone research tool does not count plural and singular as the same term.) The on-page reports are just a suggestion based on our experience and best practices. Even though you may have 27 instances of a keyword in your code, that doesn't mean you won't rank well. You would need to look at all of the factors of the report and how you are rankin and then make a decision that best fits your specific SEO and marketing strategy. I do think Zoe Rigley's advice here is really great in regard to on-page strategy. I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Strange SERP's descriptions
Unfortunately Google is not always using the meta description when showing your site in the SERP's - check this article: https://moz.com/blog/why-wont-google-use-my-meta-description. Basically in your case Google decided that the price of the training is more relevant than the content you provide in the meta description. Try rewriting your meta description - or just accept leave it like it is (if click rates are ok) You might want to consider to translate the alt texts on your images - they're still in Dutch (which is also the reason why you see these Dutch words appearing in the snippet. Also note that Google doesn't really like content which is "hidden" under tabs - https://www.seroundtable.com/google-hidden-tab-content-seo-19489.html - you can still use anchors - but it's better to show all the content upfront. Can the Lightboxes on My Site be Crawled?
Oh, do you mean the disclaimer? I can take that out of the about section, and it will only appear on the front of the site. I guess I wasn't clear what I was talking about. If you select a category on the front page, the click on a company, then a lightbox opens up with a video and other info about their company.

Question For SEO Companies From An On-line Retailer
Number of keywords ranked in SEMRush? This isn't such a great metric for a number of reasons. SEMRush as a whole isn't all that great for small to mid-sized sites. It's great for huge sites and even "pretty large" places but I wouldn't think you'll find many results on dentists, plumbers, photographers & even SEO agencies. "my belief is that the more related keywords that you have ranked the better you will do." I'll take "dresses" and you take 250 keywords related to window tinting in Kyoto. "More" keywords isn't necessarily better. A lot of SEO agencies don't bother trying to rank keywords as they're often busy working on client work and not on their own marketing (I know two of the agencies I'm intimately familiar with don't 'drink their own koolaid' - their marketing is way behind their actual skills.) Finding a good company is challenging but you should look places like here (Moz Q&A is great and you get to know people before you work with them) as well as LinkedIn local groups, social media (again, insight) and try to get an idea of what someone's philosophy is before you engage them. When you talk about traffic "drop offs" - again, if this is SEMrush, it's hard to say ... but I've seen frequently when a company is engaging an SEO agency that has their own private network, the contract ends and they remove links. If you have 20-200 strong links removed, you're going to take a massive dive. Also, check if these dives are around algorithm changes.

What's the best SEO tactics when you have a dedicated web address pointing to a page on a different site?
Cheers Nick. It's more the SEO benefit rather than the stats that I'm interested in, but that's a handy reminder to bear in mind stats too!

On-Page Grader Page received an A grade what's next?
Hi TemaB! You've already gotten some solid recommendations, but I'd recommend checking out this blog post, too. It specifically addresses what you're asking.

How to organise subpages for good SEO content without duplicate text?
Hi Lukas, Are these sections going to be as part of a sidebar, or a section of the footer? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about this kind of duplicate content, as long as the service page content has unique, rich information and good internal linking. I would minimize the amount of these extra sections, and ensure the unique content forms the majority of the overall page content. That assumes these extra sections are just small, if you have lots of information in these sections I'd maybe consolidate them into an FAQ section. You should try to keep each page focused on one goal- presumably generating leads for the specific service the page is discussing. As long as you keep your focus on usability, you'll be fine- I'd definitely avoid adding the information as images, as this won't add any value, but will prevent users from clicking on your contact number to call you, for example. Hope this helps! Zoe

Hi Moosa, do you have an update on this issue?

Good sources of information for product page SEO from a manufacturers perspective
Hi I am in a similar situation, regarding improving the content on product pages. I'm going down the route of adding product reviews to our pages and after my research think it's a great idea. Read https://econsultancy.com/blog/9366-ecommerce-consumer-reviews-why-you-need-them-and-how-to-use-them/ https://moz.com/blog/ecommerce-seo-making-product-pages-into-great-content-whiteboard-friday I know it's difficult - we have thousands of product pages and only a couple of us working to improve and write content.

Client Worried About SEO Decline After Site Redesign
Do not worry about your keyword ratio just worry about creating high-quality content with somebody that has much better grammar and writing abilities and I. (I use Grammarly or dictate to a coworker when posting on a client's site.) https://www.deepcrawl.com/knowledge/best-practice/test-development-changes/ https://www.deepcrawl.com/knowledge/tag/website-architecture/ here are no fewer than five ways to test changes before they even go live and have any impact on performance: Test site vs Live site: crawl a staging site and compare it to the live one Test robots.txt changes Test a new XML Sitemap Crawl the site with modified URLs Test the impact of removing parameters now if you are rebuilding use HTTPS it is not a powerful ranking symbol now however it is very smart to pull off to Band-Aids at once https://www.deepcrawl.com/knowledge/best-practice/the-zen-guide-to-https-configuration/ https://www.deepcrawl.com/knowledge/news/https-when-to-act/ if you add HTTPS via HTTP/2 or cloudflare do not set HSTS for more than a couple days when setting up the site. https://moz.com/blog/http2-a-fast-secure-bedrock-for-the-future-of-seo USE https://blog.cloudflare.com/enforce-web-policy-with-hypertext-strict-transport-security-hsts/ HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which could also help with speed issues on HTTPS. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqRUuwUupvM&feature=youtu.be https://youtu.be/uJkbhAErRl4 please do not take offense to the chicken it is how I feel about myself. Q& A section - SEO perspective
The key question here, which Josh nailed with his response, isn't simply about SEO. It's about whether or not the audience finds the information useful. That's the best information for ordering your steps. The more pages - deep, rich (valuable) content is part of the goal - the better, assuming your topics are varied enough to provide needed depth AND retain overall value on the topic. But, back to the main issue: How is your brand benefitting from this information? It could be in innumerable ways to boost all of your online marketing efforts. For example, based on the questions being asked, you could discern which new products to create, which current products should be updated and which features are likely to be met with the highest approval. I'd suggest gathering the team and brainstorming around the questions and answers being asked to develop (a) content ideas, (b) ways in which you could better serve existing customers and (c) how the brand could do a better job of attracting customers who might be interested about your products or services. 404's Wordpress products
I got a agree with Dan on this one. If you're 301 redirecting to non-relevant pages is pretty much worthless. a plug-in that deals with removing products is better than a default 301 to something that's not a relevant landing page/Product page

Google is not taking the title I set
Hi Carla, How did the change go? I am having similar issues with one of our partners as it keeps on putting the brand name before the description. It is also not picking up a the new meta description. Rather frustrating for sure. L

Generating a meta-description
Hey, Thanks for the help Let's say a firm going on to my website where the firm needs to set up a profile. We want informative information to appear when I search for the firm's profile. I'm proposing using the data used to generate the profile to generate a meta-description that will appear when searched. I'm relatively new to this so I'm not sure if this is normal or advisable, do you have any thoughts?

H1 tag- on home page - what is it best to include
It's depends upon your SEO strategy. Search engines give much weight to the H1 Tag. I vote for your second option : Site Name + Some Important Keyword.

Meta Robots index & noindex Both Implemented on Website
Difficult to tell how long it will take before it's completely removed (Google is never very clear on how long it takes). If it's urgent you could use the url removal tool :https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en Dirk

Showing more Duplicate Title Tags Than WMT
That is likely the cause of the discrepancy, although Moz Analytics crawls can be deeper than Google, unearthing more data than Google has gotten to yet. That being said, I would be hesitant to rely on the canonical tag so much. I did a cursory crawl on your site and found that roughly 20% of the first 800 URLs crawled were duplicates (albeit with the canonical tag). You could potentially eat up your crawl budget from Google if most of the new URLs it is finding are duplicates. While you won't have problems with PageRank dispersion or duplicate content, per se, you will get a shallower crawl of your site. Google isn't going to keep digging if it keeps unearthing the same stuff. You might want to consider using robots.txt to simply block some of the sections like the /catalog/product/view/ directory if it isn't driving organic traffic and is a source of a good deal of your canonicalized duplicates. Hope that helps!

Can any one give some advise on how to work out which back links are bad
Hi Li, You can use Moz Spam Score but you probably want to use a more specialized link-profile tool like Majestic or AHRefs. Majestic: www.majestic.com AHRefs: https://ahrefs.com These options are great for determining the value of links coming into your site. I personally use Majestic since it's easy to present to clients and help them understand link profiles, but AHRefs has a larger database. When it comes to disavowing, you just want to conduct a domain search through one of these tools, and the spammy websites will be readily apparent. Look for inbound links coming from sites that are irrelevant to your website. You may have to go through the link lists manually and judge for yourself whether they are coming from spammy sources. You will know based on whether or not the website uses the same language your website does, whether the link metrics are good (are there tons of links coming from a few referring domains, or are these numbers roughly equal?) and where are these websites hosted? Check into these metrics and you are well on your way to determining which links are worthy of removal/disavowal. Hope this helps! Rob
