SEO Plugins for WordPress
I currently use All in One SEO and haven't had problems. Now I'm seeing reviews for the Yoast plugin over All in One SEO. I downloaded the Yoast Wordpress SEO but it seems to have far less features and settings unless Yoasts plugin is doing everything on auto-pilot I think fixing what isn't broke for me isn't an option unless someone can compare the two side by side and demonstrate why I should switch and how I could benefit. In regard to updates, I get fairly frequent version updates from All In One SEO. Here is a link that may help you - User's Guide for All In One SEO Pack

How could I avoid the "Duplicate Page Content" issue on the search result pages of a webshop site?
Adding noindex to search (dynamically) created pages will prevent the problem ever existing. However not all CMS tools allow or this to be done.

Should I convert PDFs to pages?
I believe, and have heard, although i haven't proved it, that Google thinks of pdf's as technical content, which is very good for SEO. That said, its probably good to have a brief html text entry for the pdf, with a link to the pdf. That way you can summarize the content of the pdf, add value to the content of the page, make it relevant etc... But then perhaps you have to consider duplicate content. I believe you can add meta to the pdf if its editable that way, and consider if it is duplicate content, then make the html page meta canonical, and establish the pdf as the original.

Apostrophes in keywords
This does seem to post a problem for SEO. Obviously on site everything wants to be spelt and punctuated properly, anything else looks amateurish. But when searching a majority of people don't bother with punctuation and are much more likely to just bash in childrens rather than children's, which means that sites who optimise for childrens will be ranked higher then those who punctuate words properly. I'd give a comparison on how many people use apostrophes when searching but infuriatingly Google Insights doesn't take apostrophes into account.

Too many links on a page?
Is there a problem with having more than 100 links on a page? The 100 links per page threshold itself isn't a concern in and of itself. As Julie shared, it is an old standard and Google and other search engines are capable of crawling hundreds of links per page. The more links you offer, the more diluted each link becomes. What if you have a great article that you want to tell the world about, and then a below average article. You provide a link to both articles from the same page. Each article will receive the same amount of link juice. You may want to consider offering your older links by years instead of months. A user can click on the year and can be taken to the "2008 archive" page which then would offer links to all the months. It's up to you to determine what is best for your users and your site. By providing links with your current method, you are probably diluting your recent articles at the expense of old articles which users are less interesting in reading. Then again, perhaps your old articles are popular. Again, this decision is something you would want to evaluate based on how often your users are using the older links.

Alternatives for having less then 100 links per page
If you are hoping to pass on link juice to the listed properties, you have a problem. If you are not listing them for SEO benefits then don't worry about it. Google will crawl the first 100 or so links, and stop. This is not detrimental to your site, you just arnt passing on any link juice. GREG

Microsites vs landing pages
Hi, in the end I didn't go with microsites. As part of the site build we optimised the urls (using a CMS) and everything else on page we could and 301'd the old URL's to the new versions. Everything ranks as well as it did or better since lanch (4 weeks ago).

Duplicate Page Titles?
It sounds like each author page is reproducing the articles written by the author, or snippets of the article. It's up to you how to best present the author pages for your site's visitors. I would suggest simply offering a title list of their articles. Perhaps a 100-word snippet for their latest or most popular article may be helpful as well. If you currently are having pagination due to trying to offer snippets for every article, this approach can make the pages more useful for visitors and resolve the duplicate title issue. If you decide you like your pages as-is, or if you still have pagination after making the adjustment, adding "Page - 2" and so forth to your pages should resolve the unique title issue.

Panda Update and Website Content
Hi, I would recommend reading the recent blog post from Kate Morris eCommerce Syndicated Content: How to Win I know the feeling of being faced with a couple of thousand product descriptions with this problem (and unfortunately it gives me no joy to think "I told you so"), but all you can really do is take it one product at a time

Title Tag Targeting Two Geographic Modifiers
Good question. I think you can go either way. Assuming that I was targeting all of Nebraska, not just Lincoln, I would: Create a page targeting Nebraska and create sub-pages targeting the major cities in Nebraska. For example: Personal Injury Lawyer & Attorney Nebraska Sub page: Personal Injury Lawyer & Attorney Omaha NE Sub page 2: Personal Injury Lawyer & Attorney Lincoln NE I would then link to each page with geo-specific anchor text. Once I got the main page high on the first page, I would try to rank the sub-pages for "Nebraska" as well to get an indented listing and take up more of the SERPS. Another benefit of structuring the site this way is that if you had locations in each city, it would be very good for Google Places. However, I would only follow this page/subpage strategy if I was confident in my link building strategy, i.e. that I could get enough geo-specific links for each sub-page. Otherwise, you might be walking into a Panda-type scenario where you have what Google perceives as extraneous, useless pages.

Use 301 redirects when deleting old products?
The only additional suggestion I'd make here is that maybe you 301 redirect to the closest current product instead of the winery page. If they're looking for a 2006 vintage and you now have the 2007 vintage, possibly redirect to the 2007 vintage.

Internal linking best practice
I think in the case of a page for Sedan > BMW it would be categorically related to SUV > BMW, so cross linking should be encouraged. If you were to restructure your site, you might end up with "Vehicle Make" as a top category, and then body style as a subcategory, with categories like "BMW > Sedan" and "BMW > SUV". Another valid way of organizing your site, where the pages would have identical content. There's more than one way to slice a pie, so if they are justifiably related, you should cross link.

Sitemap Help!
The problem that I have with CMS side sitemap generators is that it often pulls content from pages that are existing and adds entries based off that information. If you have pages linked to that are no longer there, as is the case with dynamic content, then you'll be imposing 404's on yourself like crazy. Just something to watch out for but it's probably your best solution.
