  • Samuel, I don't think there will be a negative effect unless there is an abundance of these and the page becomes spammy. A couple of cautions would be: "at the bottom of articles" links lower in a page have less value, links in the footer are IMHO of little or no value and tend to clutter everything. Your site has a nice clean look right now and you dont want tons of links all over the place. If you keep quality content and diverse links you should be fine.

  • I don't think the URLs are an absolute disaster. Before making any changes like this you need to understand the potential risks and clearly define what it is you are trying to achieve. Look at how many links/linking domains each of your pages have. It's these deep links that are both the most valuable to the pages and also the ones most at risk. How many pages do you have on your site, how much organic search traffic do you already attract? Where are you currently ranking for your chosen keywords? If you've got lots of deep inbound links and the URLs aren't causing a significant problem then I don't think I'd take the risk. Even if it all goes well, you'll lost some "link juice" in the redirects. What will be the return on investment of your time re-structuring your URLs and 301 redirecting all the content to the new pages vs the potential loss of rankings/traffic? Hope this helps.

  • Not that you would want to change plug-ins, but the Yoast SEO Plugin for Wordpress allows each category and/or tag to have its own custom title and description.

  • The variable C probably calls the product up from the database. It's going to pull the product details (include the name of the product) into several variables, then post those variables into the HTML where necessary. If you can get into the PHP file where the product page HTML is generated, look for the same HTML element the product name is populated into in the source. Hopefully it's as simple as an H1 tag. There you should find the variable that will contain the product name - something like the following: If you find the above, you can simply grab that PHP code (everything inside the H1 tags) and paste it right into your <title>tag. </p> <p>Often it's that simple. </p> <p>But if you're using an eCommerce platform, as Don noted - Oscommerce or similar - you want to be careful about making custom tweaks to the PHP files, as this will create issues when you attempt to upgrade to a later version or otherwise patch your installation. In this case, you really want to find a plug-in or other modification that will be upgrade-friendly. </p></title>

  • As Axel and Acorn  I also think that you should leave the URL the shortest possible in terms of SEO. Also if you change the URL structure, the external links pointing to the old pages wont be updated automatically and will be kind of wasted.

  • I was hoping for some more input regarding this. I appreciate your input David and will change the meta-robots around a bit. But thought I would get some more input, perhaps someone that wanted the categories to be index, follow as I have heard somewhere else.

  • No you should be fine, but the best way to optimise an image is to use schema.org See example at bottom of page http://schema.org/ImageObject

  • All your campaigns are going to be crawled on weekly basis and you will get an email from the seoMoz team, when the crawl is finished. You will find additional information on: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/home The Zendesk provides all the information. Sorry for not posting direct links to pro webinars, but you will find some great info on how to use your pro membership over there. Greetings, Istvan

  • I agree with Robert. The first thing I noticed was the backlink profile. With only 1 linking root domain to the desired page, this is probably from internal links within your own site, so inbound links from other sites may be 0. I'd look at building links to that specific page with relevant anchor text relating to 'corporate events' where possible. Hope that helps

  • No because im guessing each page has a title tag specific to the location, if you merge 2 pages together your end up with one title tag rather then 2. Persoanlly myself I would have a page which lists all the locations called locations.php then link to each city from that page, if you build a few links to the city page your might find the city pages get crawled more often. So your have: vipfishingcharters.com/locations/boca-raton-fishing-charters/

  • Copyblogger has some great advice on headlines/titles and copy-writing in general. I'd recommend: How to write magnetic headlines There's lots of advice out there, I've just not found a really nice single source for search snippet copy-writing and optimisation.

  • I can't say i understand it either. If Dutch is the language you're targeting then I can see it's frustrating that this is the language search that seems to be coming up with the wrong page! Are you setting the language correctly? A quick look at the source seems to show the language code wrapped in IE conditionals. Don't know if this helps (it's a bit old): How Search Engines Detect HTML Human Language
