URL length... is >115 now >255?
Although the specification of the HTTP protocol does not specify any maximum length, practical limits are imposed by web browser and server software. Extremely long URLs are usually a mistake. URLs over 2,000 characters will not work in the most popular web browser. Don't use them if you intend your site to work for the majority of Internet users. If you must have long URI's ask your CMS provider if there's a way they can set clean url's instead of the long versions.

How to SEO a website that is being help back by duplicate content?
You are mixing up terminology. <noindex>- applies to the entire webpage or website.</noindex> <nofollow>- applies to links</nofollow>

Discrepancy between SeoMoz vs Google Webmaster tools
I would manualy visit all the pages that aparently have 4XX errors, and use a tool to extract the responce-headers. You may have a simila rproblem to on I had. Due to the way a legacy site I worked with worked, there were places where the responce header was set manulay. I actualy ended up with 404 pages returning 200 and vis versa.

Exstinguishing Page Rank?
Maybe I dont understand what you are saying, but the pagerank calculator really supports my question. It is treating every OBL on the page equally as it tries to work out where the rank (or whatever) flows to within the linked structure. Yet, greater than 98 out of 100 SEOs will gladly state that a link from within the content of a page is more valuable than a footer, header, menu etc... types of links. It still makes me think that there might be say X value to be obtained from links off a page, but the current links may only be extracting 75% of X. Hence value from links of a page may be being lost.

Word count
Hi Sansonj - there is no set optimum for word count when it comes to SEO - the most important thing to remember is that you should write you content for the user's experience and not just for search engines. Yes include your keywords, but make sure it sounds natural. Obviously you should judge your word count in terms of quality if you just have a sentence or two that is rammed with your keywords then this is not good, especially with the over optimization penalty looming from Google. Try to create pages that are information rich and will serve a purpose for the user - something that will actually benefit them from reading. Also try to think- have I just created this page to rank well and it doesn't really fulfill any other purpose in relation to visitors of the website - if this is the case look how you can improve your page and actually make it beneficial for visitors.

How quickly should I change/edit sites to avoid potential over optimization penalty?
This is just an example. The point behind it is to optimize your site and structure it for the user via educating/entertainment/enlightening content with keyword variations. Build your content to help your users, and keep keyword variation in mind.

Does Google look at page design
Hi Cyrus, Maybe I wasn't very clear in my previous comment; I know using website templates on multiple domains won't cause you to get a penalised by Google, but the article that was linked to said, Google has changed the algorithm to look at the layout of a web page and this didn't make sense to me. This is why I mentioned changing your on-page optimisation to ensure you at least have different content on different domains that use the same template. Slightly off topic, but I wanted to say that I thought your White Board Friday was really good (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/stop-optimizing-and-start-creating-whiteboard-friday), you covered a good topic and explained it really well.

WBF told me to get rid of my low contrast footer links...
I agree with you, but you see it quite a lot - especially people trying to optimise for multiple location based variations.

Possible Reasons for 40% Drop in Google since January?
One more thing - separate to the other note. It is likely that google has already destroyed some of the sites that used to link to you, so that is another reason you could have less power.

Is it necessary to add keywords to all of your pages?

How to make FB comments crawlable by Google? <noscript>?</noscript>
Hi! Do you use Wordpress? There is a plugin out there: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/crawlable-facebook-comments/ although I haven't used it personally. Additionally, here's the post that Francisco mentioned previously: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/make-facebook-comments-box-indexable-by-search-engines. I believe both options do the same thing, just that one is a plugin for Wordpress. Hope that helps!

Nofollow in . Wrong, but does it work
nofollow is a value assigned to an <a>element so assigning it to</a> <a>is incorrect.</a> <a></a> <a>You can read more here: </a>http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-nofollow

On page report card 410 error
Hi Nick, Sure, URL: http://www.duesoon.com.au/store/pregnancy-pilates/ and keyword phrase 'Pregnancy exercise dvd'. I have tried this tool using various URL's from my site as well as keywords and receive the same error message. I am very new at SEO stuff and we are currently employing our web developer to work on some major keywords for us. I am trying to broaden my SEO knowledge so that I can upload new products and content in a google friendly way, and so that I can identify and target other keywords in the future. Our domain is hosted on our webdevelopers server, so I wonder if the comment Valery made regarding the server blocking the MozBot could be the issue. I have contacted our developer to check. I very much appreciate everyones help and suggestions as well as the excellent tools and information provided by SEOMoz!
