Can you get away with the image if you add an audio link for the ISI? Another option might be an iframe.

Is creating lots of sub product pages with some variation a good idea?
Hello, My advice is try to keep things simple and straightforward. You shouldn't create an individual page for similar products. I understand you are trying to optimize a product for a specific keyword, but if the products are very similar such as 'logo design' and 'graphic design' then having one page would be better. If you have too many pages, it might make things confusing for your visitors, thus they will leave the site (higher bounce rate). Also, the content on each page is fairly similar, so there might be a duplicate issue problem. If your looking at a PPC perspective, creating the suggested landing pages would be a good idea because you can specifically customize advertisements for each page and that should improve your quality score and minimize CPC. So in summary, keep things simile and relevant. Don't create the page just for the SERPS, concentrate on usability (what make it easy for your visitors to navigate around the site), because if they get what they want easily, there is a high chance of them returning. Hope this helps.

Do I need a unique post meta description
I agree that the description is very important to entice users to click -- if a keyword searched on shows in your title and again in the description it is bolded creating impact. One thing that gets me though is all these tools that promote "unique" title tags, meta descriptions and use it as a page grader -- you get an F if you don't have a unique meta description. So I try to make it unique. It may be .005% of an overall page score but at least your paying attention to it.

Prevent indexing of dynamic content
Hello Steven, Thank you for providing another perspective. However, all factors considered, I agree with Shane's approach on this one. The pages add very little merit to the site and exist primarily to provide the site users with eye-candy (e.g. photos of classic cars).

How do I avoid duplicate content and page title errors when using a single CMS for a website
I would still take precautions to not end up with duplicate content. Its an easy fix, so why take the chance. Hers an excerpt from google webmaster tools for using canonical tag. If Google knows that these pages have the same content, we may index only one version for our search results. Our algorithms select the page we think best answers the user's query. Now, however, users can specify a canonical page to search engines by adding a element with the attribute rel="canonical" to the section of the non-canonical version of the page. Adding this link and attribute lets site owners identify sets of identical content and suggest to Google: "Of all these pages with identical content, this page is the most useful. Please prioritize it in search results."

Does anyone have any opinions on whether to use a pipe | in your title tags? Or commas or just nothing at all?
Brilliant - thanks for your help!

Anchor text in Ecommerce site without relevant pages
Hi, I'm not sure I understand correctly but i'f you write a post about red wine and you put a link in it as follows: red wine I don't see anyting wrong with that. You do need to make sure that google will be able to crawl these search pages, otherwise it will be useless. (that basically means that the page should be generated server-side, so no javascript and ajax and such). In an ideal situation you might want to consider creating a few static pages for your top keywords if you want to rank for them. In my experience a nice clean URL is quite an important ranking factor. i.e. yoursite.com/top-searches/red-wine.html instead of yoursite.com/search.html?query=red+wine Btw, beware of duplicate content if you are going to index search result pages! e.g. resultsfor the queryies redwine, red+wine, wine, and white+wine might be very similar, but have different url's! Can I exclude sub-domains from the crawl diagnostics?
Presumably you are talking excluding the sub domain in the SEOMoz web app? If so, it sounds like you have set up SEOMoz to view the root domain. Unfortunately you can't change from a root domain to a sub-domain so the only option is to create a new campaign. All you need to so is set up the new campaign using the subdomain you want to crawl (presumably this will be www.domain.com) and voila! BTW: By setting up a new campaign you won't have the crawl history, so you will need to refer to old campaign for that info. Hope that helps

Using commas in the title tag?
Anyone has any thoughts as far as "-" as a way to designate keyword string as in funny-greeting-cards vs. funny greeting cards,....

Are Title meta tag keywords case sensitive'
Hi Kenny! First of all thanks for your answer. I realize what you are saying and i believe I'm not confusing both situations. The page i'm refering to is this one - http://www.isabelesteti.com/servicos/fotodepilacao-epilacao-depilacao/ (sorry but is in portuguese!) and the term i'm referring to is 'fotodepilação'. Your 'On Page Report Card' says that there's a simple fix-it issue 'Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title'. The only diference i'm seeing is the case sensite issue and that's why i'm asking for your help. Regards, OV

Okay to have text in javascript?
The client wants to remove existing content to create a cleaner look on the page. I suggested we find a way to keep that content to avoid losing the traffic it generates and turning the page into a low quality page. My thought was to display a portion of the content and have the visitor click to view the rest.

Article on site and distribution, is it duplicate content?
To be honest, I don't get why to do that. I'd get the best article on my site, rewrite it (not spinning) and publish the simpler rewritten version. I believe that also the rewritten version shouldn't be used more than a couple of times. I think that the best practice would be to have the distributed articles point out to your on site article as the source of information but don't do too many of these. Coppied content of any type today is not healthy.

Does hosting server location affect my local google page rank
To call John Mu simply as a Google Employee is to undervalue him, as he is the Webmaster Trends Analyst in Google :). So... knowing who he is, somehow makes even more relevant what he says.
