Thank you for the explanation, Prestashop. I'll have to look into this ASAP. We thought we had set all of that up, but now seeing something went awry.

Getting Different PA/DA for 'www' and 'non-www'?
Can anyone explain why we're seeing different DA/PA for our website when viewing in OSE for 'www' and 'non-www'? This is for our site whiteboardcreations.com
Our 'www' is resolving at DA 37 | PA 47
Our 'non-www' is resolving at DA 37 | PA 44Thanks! - Patrick

RE: New Product. New Brand. Gmail/Authorship Questions. Need Advice.
Great! Thank you again for the feedback. I'm on it now setting up all my new accounts

Have a great weekend, Nishadha!

RE: New Product. New Brand. Gmail/Authorship Questions. Need Advice.
Thanks for the reply, Nishadha. I get all you're saying, but what would you do for Authorship? My thoughts, now that I read and understand yours, is that I would create the new Gmail ID (which auto creates a new G+ Profile) and then setup a G+ Business Page for my new product. Then for Authorship, just link/associate my current G+ Profile to the new product G+ Business Page and Website as I want to continue to build Authority as a content publisher/author.
Does that sound about right? Make sense?

New Product. New Brand. Gmail/Authorship Questions. Need Advice.
I'm in the process of developing a new product and brand name and would like to create all the social media accounts (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc), including G+ and want it to have it's own Gmail ID like ABCXYZ@gmail.com, so I can set up all accounts using this Gmail ID and if needed down the road, have someone else help manage the accounts so they have that login and my my main Gmail login.
My question is, does Google frown upon setting up new Gmail IDs under the same name "Patrick McCoy" as I have my name tied to my personal Gmail account and my company's Gmail account "whiteboardcreations@gmail" both with G+ pages and URLs of /+PatrickMcCoy1 and /+PatrickMcCoy2 respectively. I'd like to have Authorship associated with the new product website and also want the new product to have it's own G+ Business Page to post updates, info, etc., which is why I'm getting a little confused on how I'd do it the right way,
What would you do or does it really matter... can my new Gmail account of ABCXYZ@gmail just be /+PatrickMcCoy3 which is associated to my new product/brand name?
Thank you and look forward to the feedback!

RE: Has anyone had any success buying a local domain website, getting it on first page and then selling it to a local business? I have found some good domains that this might work for but I am wondering if anybody has tried this before.
Bradley,
David is right in terms of your time vs your return if you sell. I had the same idea about buying up domains (lots of them) in hopes to build a few, rank them, generate leads for businesses, then sell them or continue to build leads. It was a mess, expensive, time consuming and something I won't do again. Our return was low, if any on most. We just sold a bunch of the domains last year. Out of sight. Out of mind.
EGOL, the way you responded to this question is amazing. I enjoyed reading it and agree wholeheartedly with you.
All the best, Bradley. - Patrick

RE: Should I Use A Local Hosting Center?
Hey Ruben,
Like FCBM stated, there is no difference besides cost. I know you are a law firm, so that may not be an issue, but as web company, we get asked all the time about hosting and where clients can save money. A TON of money. Many smaller businesses don't need a managed service provider "watching over" their server environment. They just need a website that will load fast and be up 99.9999999% of the time.
We host with GoDaddy and have not had 1 issue in over 4 years, even when they had that huge takedown a couple years back. I can call them on a Saturday night 4am and speak with someone in Arizona or their other US based call center if I need, which I can't say the same for HostGator or BlueHost or many others, especially a local host provider.
Hope this was helpful! Good luck! - Patrick

RE: Question about onsite NAP as it relates to Local Search
Wayne,
Kevin nailed it with the response and ideas about the simple Disclaimer at the footer to note it, then get into more details on the About page. How the businesses were registered in each state shouldn't affect your SEO strategy, especially if you have the businesses listed in Google or any other listing or local citation as "Keller & Keller". Use of NAP will provide enough for Google to do it's thing in creating relevance between the website, G+ pages and physical office location.
Cheers! - Patrick

RE: Is it Possible to Optimize Another Company Name/Product for Organic Results?
Thanks for the tips, Highland. Per the PPC info, they aren't running any PPC now and will be using another company for those strategies. On the optimization side of things, providing a "Disclaimer" in the footer or even on the individual product page could do some help. We did discuss implementing content on the site for "Comparison of A & B Products" type blog articles, but my clients feel the other company is simply protecting what they built, even though my clients essentially bought over their market share. Big brand ego's!
Appreciate your tips. Any others would be great to read. - Patrick

Is it Possible to Optimize Another Company Name/Product for Organic Results?
We have a potential new client seeking to rank organically for a company name and brand product who have left the market (still in business as they are a massive medical company, but just moved away from selling this one specific product) and my new client has since picked up their slack and slowly a couple others have entered the market over the past 5 years with different products.
My client's product is a direct replacement/alternative to the other product, actually, it's the same, just had to be renamed/rebranded. They are wondering how to get their website ranked for that company and branded product name to show in Google SERPs organically without being slapped with a cease and desist order. We know they can do it for PPC, but how for organic results since we need the content within the site pages or tags.
Any suggestions or real life experiences would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to reading your feedback.

RE: Local Seo for Two Offices?
Hey Ruben! Great question as I recently posed a similar question to the community, since we're getting ready to take over an medical practice website and they have 3 office locations. Our goal is to touch up their existing website with improved navigation. One of the key takeaways is that each location has their own independent page.
Within each page, we are going to be accomplishing a lot such as:
- Build the location pages off your root domain as noted above, domain.com/Office1 and domain.com/Office2 so that you can work to build links to those individual pages going forward
- Create and implement Schema markup to let Google quickly identify the NAP (Name, Address, Phone #) to the respective office and make sure it's consistent with the G+ pages information that you verify as noted below
- Provide 100% original and non-duplicated content which talks about the practice, the eye care services, products they offer, and which doctors at that specific office
- An interactive Google map pin marketing their exact location (this also links to their G+ page)
- A slideshow to display only that office's pictures
- Internal links to/from the Home page and some inner pages like the Dr bios, an eye care service, etc
- And most importantly making sure that the office location pages are linked to only their respective G+ pages (you will need separate verified G+ pages as a note)
There are other items we'll tackle for the website, but remember, you can "optimize" the G+ pages, so our focus will be to populate those individual G+ pages with as much content, images, videos, and links to the site page and site Blog as Google will allow. Another tip I learned was to do a Review Acquisition Strategy to obtain more reviews to your G+ pages and other sites by potentially using a service like GetFiveStars.com.
You will also want to build local citations, so we're looking into the new Moz Local service to assist our efforts. Link those to the location pages and if you have a blog, like we'll be doing for these eye doctors, then you can also write articles specific to an area/their location and build more relevance and inner links to the location pages.
I know you were asking about getting ranked in local and feel I went on a tangent, however, all of that will assist in getting the local listing in G+ more relevance and more exposure over the competitors who may only have a G+ page with a description, an image and a link back to the site.
Hope this helps! And all the best! - Patrick

RE: Website Mods and SEO for Multi-Location Practice?
There you go again! Thanks for that suggestion and I'll check it out tonight

RE: Website Mods and SEO for Multi-Location Practice?
I can always take away a little nugget when you write an article or post a response! I love the "Review Acquisition Strategy" wording and idea behind it. I know they are important but getting clients to understand that can be tough, but just those words would help pack a punch to any client in any meeting. Thanks for that! - Patrick

RE: Website Mods and SEO for Multi-Location Practice?
Andrew,
I agree with you about the Home page including content which targets their 3 locations as well as having dedicated "location" pages as well. Rather than do overkill, the Location pages would include Schema markup (NAP) and with creating links for those locations to their G+ pages which all need to be verified, thus letting Google know that they are a true local business.
This practice is super behind on things. No social media profiles, G+ not verified, no other lcoal listings verified/setup, no blog, weak/thin content in all of their pages, no backlinks... the list goes on. I do know I'll be using https://moz.com/local/search. I'm looking forward taking over and getting them ranked finally! Thanks for your tips and response! - Patrick

Website Mods and SEO for Multi-Location Practice?
We're in the process of taking over a WordPress website within the next week for a 3 location medical practice. These are in 3 different cities. 1 location is in a pretty competitive market, while the other 2 are not.
The current site isn't bad for design and navigation and they don't have the budget for a full-redesign. Structurally, it is sound. It lacks a lot of content though and a blog. It is not responsive, should we convert to make it responsive?
At first glance you can't tell they have 3 locations and their content for each location and services offered is pretty weak. What other suggestions do any of you have for getting the main site to rank for all 3 locations? I know it'll take some time since they are no where to be found now, but just looking for any other tips you may all have. Thanks!! - Patrick

Drastic drop in LRD from OSE report has me confused... Any idea why?
We just got our report from OSE and a week ago we had over 80 LRD's with DA34/PA44 and now we see only 27 LRD's DA32/PA34? Why such a significant drop in our LRD's which I'm sure has affected everything else in the software.
We checked Google Webmasters and don't see a drop in our linking URLs. We see it fluctuate all the time, but nothing like this. I'm not so much concerned with DA/PA at the moment as I know that dropped from lack of data the system can read, but why did over 60% of our LRDs disappear overnight?
Anyone else seeing this happen to them? Our URL is whiteboardcreations.com

Anyone deal with WebSynthesis as a WordPress host?
Curious to get feedback from users who have used or are currently using WebSynthesis for their WordPress web hosting. I'm also open to hear about what you are doing if not using WebSynthesis, like WPEngine or GoDaddy's new Managed WP solution, etc. Thanks!!
