Google News URL Format
Hi all, Is it still the case that you can submit EITHER with 3 digits in the URL OR via a news sitemap? I can't see anything in the official instructions about the sitemap route... they seem pretty insistent on the 3 digit rule though. Can we do it just by submitting a news sitemap via GWT? Do you still have to go through the inclusion process here: http://support.google.com/news/publisher/bin/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=2394225&page=ts.cs&from=191208 Thanks guys... MB.

URL structure
The timestamp is totally up to you if you think your URL:s will look better without them. However Google tends to give pages with clear indications of when the information was published a little boosts. And they do mention that freshness is key for content. So the timestamp is important but I'm guessing that you'll have a timestamp in the article with the standard WP config anyhow so it's really not that essential in the URL. But If you have many articles it can be good to have a time indicator in them, if only for your own use. To give yo a better example of how the permalink settings could look in WP: /%category%/%postname%/ If you do it this way you won't have a timestamp in the URL. * Remember that WP will use only one category in the permalinks so I reccomend you to only have one category for the URL. Both way works, just choose one and remember that you need to stick to the one you choose so that the inbound links don't loose effect. best, G

New website launch - Dupilicate content question
If the copy on both websites is going to be identical, then you'll have duplicate content, plain and simple. Even though I see how this would be troublesome, having unique content on both websites would be a requirement to avoid duplicate content issues.

Google picking up wrong page title
Have you removed the malicious code? If so, is THFCTalk registered with Google Webmaster Tools? If the code has been removed you can file a reconsideration request in there. If you haven't, you can also see which pages are affected. All websites should be registered with Webmaster Tools (and the Bing equivalent)! You can set up alerts so Google e-mail you about any major problems they find. Here are some links that should help you, whatever stage you're at: http://25yearsofprogramming.com/blog/20071223.htm http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-sites-been-hacked-now-what.html P.S. I hope Harry stays and Spurs win the title (from a Stoke fan)!
