I see that it shows your site's pages that have inbound links going to them and are 404 for example. I don't see where it lists the outside URL's pointing to error pages though. Am I missing something?

So I am testing removing some of the restrictions in the robots.txt file and see if that helps as I still can't get it to be indexed.

Best Tool for Finding Backlinks Pointing to 404 Pages on Your Website?
Hi,
Anyone have any recommended tools for finding backlinks pointing to your website that are going to 404 pages? Couldn't find anything in MOZ.
Thanks!

RE: Any idea why pages are not being indexed?
Yeah...it's very close to what I have. I also checked other websites I own with the same category structure and robots.txt file...no issues.
I even checked other subcats on www.moregems.com, and no issues. It seems to be all the pages under "GEMSTONES" that are not being indexed. Any thoughts there?
-
RE: Any idea why pages are not being indexed?
So I submitted https://www.moregems.com/loose-cut-gemstones/prasiolite-loose-gemstones.html and fetched it in Google Search Console a few hours ago. Still not being indexed. I don't see any issues in the robots.txt file. Any thoughts?

RE: Any idea why pages are not being indexed?
Hi Nicholas,
I asked him this as well, but do you have any resources for a "good" Magento specific robots.txt file? I want to try updating it, as it has been the same for about 7 years.
The strange thing is the deeper product pages are indexed, but not the subcats.

RE: Any idea why pages are not being indexed?
Hi Christian,
Do you have any resources for a recommended Magento robots.txt file? I added this probably 6-7 years ago, and have not updated it since. I can definitely try that.

Any idea why pages are not being indexed?
Hi Everyone,
One section on our website is not being indexed. The product pages are, but not some of the subcategories. These are very old pages, so thought it was strange. Here is an example one one:
https://www.moregems.com/loose-cut-gemstones/prasiolite-loose-gemstones.html
If you take a chunk of text, it is not found in Google. No issues in Bing/Yahoo, only Google. You think it takes a submission to Search Console?

Google Serps Not Showing HTTPS in Front of URL
Hi Everyone,
We implemented the HTTPS change to our four websites about 6 months ago. I have found something that I feel is strange. The homepage of each website shows www.domain.com, but all the internal pages show https://www.domain.com/page. If you click through it shows it as secure, but I feel that because it is happening on all four websites, that something was done incorrectly.
Here is one Google SERP:
As you can see, our site displays with no https, but all the internal pages do. It just worries me as I have seen our internal pages increasing in positioning, but not our homepage. Any ideas?

RE: Google My Business Shared Address Problem
Thanks for the extra input William. Yeah, it's a new site. I was mainly concerned about the shared address. Nothing I have ever seen before. We have ran some reports on local churches, as well as churches in general to see where to get some quality links and will be implementing that soon. I will keep everyone updated on what happens!
-
RE: Google My Business Shared Address Problem
Awesome information. More than I could ask for. We did already begin some link audits of the "competition" and will work on that. The church is newer than all the rest in the area, so we have some work cut out for us, but doing some brief research, not a ton of SEO going on in the community. If I have any other questions, I will be sure to add them, but again, really appreciate all this information...it's a great help!

Google My Business Shared Address Problem
Hi,
I have an issue. Our organization shares a church with another organization. Years ago they claimed the address. They have their Google Business category set up as "Religious Organization". About 6 months ago we started sharing the same church with them. We are a total different organization. We now have a verified listing (same address but with STE 100 in it) with the main category being "Church". There are a few issues I am seeing:
-
When doing a search for our address, the icon is the default one, whereas all the other churches in the area show the church icon. Is this because they claimed the original address as "Religious Organization" and because we only have STE 100, even though labeled as Church, Google doesn't see it that way?
-
If you search for the location + church, neither of our organizations show, even after 6 months. They only show if you search for the organization name or address. Could this be because Google doesn't consider this address (therefore both of us) as a church and doesn't show it?
Here is our Google local listing and the one we share with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Canonical URL's For Two Domains
We have two websites, one we use for Google PPC (website 1) and one (website 2) we use for everything else. The reason is we are in an industry that Google Adwords doesn't like, so we built a whole other website that removes the product descriptions as Google Adwords doesn't approve of many of them (nutrition).
Right now we have that Google Adwords approved website (website 1) no-index/no-follow because we didn't want to run into potential duplicate content issues in free search, but the issue is we can't submit it to Google Shopping...as they require it to be indexable. Do you think removing the no-index/no-follow from that website 1 and adding canonical URL's pointing to website 2 would resolve this issue (being able to submit it to Google Shopping) and not cause any problems with duplicate content?
I was thinking of adding the canonical tag to all pages of website 1 and point it to website 2. Does that make sense?
Do you think that would work?

Recommended Rich Schema for B2B?
Hey Guys,
I normally set up Rich Schema for ecommerce, but wondering your thoughts on rich schema for B2B, specifically a consulting firm. I was thinking:
- address
- hours open
- events
We have pages for services, a testimonial page, a page with all the partners, contact us, blog posts.
Any thoughts on this?

RE: Is this Schema? Did Test, and Shows Nothing
I did test the page in Google Rich Snippet tester and it showed nothing. I see the same thing with Wikipedia's listing on https://www.google.com/search?q=tanzanite&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
Tanzanite - Wikipedia

Is this Schema? Did Test, and Shows Nothing
Hi Everyone,
If you look at the first listing on https://www.google.com/search?q=tanzanite+minerals&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8, you will see this under the listing:
Mineral Class: ZoisiteLuster: VitreousChemical Formula: Ca2Al3(SiO4)3(OH)Crystal System: OrthorhombicI tried to run a test against the page and it shows no schema. How are they doing this as we would love to provide the same information.Thank you!

Ajax Pagination in Magento Question
Hi,
We just launched our new theme for Magento and my developer stated the pagination uses Ajax. Previously I had the developers set up rel prev/next for all our pages (categories/ecommerce site) that had multiples. He said it's not required with Ajax. Is this correct?
Example:
https://www.bestpricenutrition.com/whey.html
and when you go to Page 2, the URL shows:
https://www.bestpricenutrition.com/whey.html?
I want to make sure these pages are set up correctly.

RE: Google Webmaster Tools is saying "Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt" after Https move...
Thanks again for the response. Looks like it just took a little more time for Google to resolve the issue. No more errors. Didn't do anything but resubmit Sitemap and Robots.txt.
Thanks for the tips as well. I am going to post one more question in another thread.
-
RE: Google Webmaster Tools is saying "Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt" after Https move...
Thanks for the quick response.
-
Yes...Google Webmaster Tools is giving examples...and they are basically all the product pages.
-
Did the Add Site under Google Webmaster Tools yes...this is from that new 'account'.
-
Yes...we are fixing that.
You see anything in that robots.text above that would indicate we are blocking https product pages?
