Thanks
It means that after all the code changes in order to show the metatags properly (in wordpress its all a mess!) Google will not take it into account? Would then it be better to work on rich snippets?

thanks all!
You helped a lot! As I already did, and will keep doing, I will follow chris reply. I thought that googlebot would let the website changes be displayed in the serp as well. So this means, that, if I see correct meta description in Moz Toolbar, this should be the one that google will display once the crawl is done?
I hope so
Thanks again

Hello,
Does anyone know how long it takes for the meta descriptions to show up in Google?
This because I just updated my meta descriptions for the whole website, but while moz toolbar is showing it correctly, google is still showing the old ones, even if i used the see as googlebot tool from webmaster tools.
Thanks for a reply

thanks dario,
I also found this good article about the subject
ย http://bloggingzene.com/domain-authority-increase-tips/
content seems to be the fastest solution
Hello everyone,
My question is: is there any manual way to increase domain authority, rather than link building to domain (homepage) ?
Thanks
Eugenio
sorry then,
i did not understand well. As Chris said, I also meant that the those words would go to the body of the page.
If not, I agree with Chris.
Hello I dont know if I understood well,
But there should be no prob to have some more words for content. Google likes that!
Just be sure that you do not abuse keywords. 1 or 2 times (max 3) in the whole page, and include many synonyms and variants of the keyword.
But not spammy content will surely help Google understand your page, and give better results to customers
Hope this helps!

Hello Tuzel,
Thank you again for your help. Plugin could not be deactivated as it left translation and original all in one page.
I found out that I could also use this code in the header.php of the website
Hope it will work, seems less strong than canonical, maybe better try with this first
So, if I understood, my code to have in the header.php of the website should be:
hope im right :)
NetLogiQ Thank you.
This answer solves a lot of tricks i had in my head
Thank you very much, I will better study the link you sent, and try to implement on my website. Footers etc. are not translated, so they remain in the original language.. But while reading, I think the solution can fit to my problem.
Thanks again!
Eugenio
hello james
Thanks for reply. I have original webpages in Italian. Translated webpages are in English. I use a plugin for wordpress, that allows me to translate the whole page (title, etc.) except the url, which will only be different because of the /en before the original page name (in italian, eg /en/contatti)
Widgets, footers etc. are still in Italian, even with translated pages.
I also thought about changing permalinks to be %postname%, so that url may adapt to title (? I think). But Im afraid this website wide urls change will affect my current rankings.
Any suggestion?
all types of keyword stuffing, backlinks with too many exact anchor text, too many backlinks. This the most common I know..
in fact, now that im thinking:
will not canonical confuse google if trying to rank also for the other language?
What will appear? this is duplicate in a sense, but is complete different content in the other sense.
Please correct me if im wrong..
this is what google replied to the same question, not very explicit at all!
"Canonical was not created to say that a language is another language, but that a duplicate page is just a variation and not the original page"
Im lost again
but i also now think that rel canonical is the solution..
Hello everyone,
I should rel="canonical" my 2 languages website /en urls to the original version without /en. Can I do this from the header.php? Should I rel="canonical" each /en page (eg. en/contatti, en/pagina) separately or can I do all from the general before the website title?
Thanks if someone can help.
Thank you Adam,
Very good answer, thats what I needed
Please let me know if I understood good:
Should I replace the /contact.php in the example to my real address /en/contact?
And basically I should put the below condition. Should I write this code for each url i want to redirect? so that it would be like
if /en/contact, then ย rel="canonical" /contact
else /contact
if /en/about-us, then ย rel="canonical" /about-us
else /about-us
etc?
if you come up with a big idea, and link the page in the idea, you will get tons of links
Hello,
I have a quick question: I use wordpress for my website. I have a plugin for translating the website in other languages. Thus, I have 2 versions of urls, one with /en, one without (original languale). This has been seen as duplicate content.
I have been advised that the best to do is to use canonical redirect. Should I use it on the general header.php (the only header I can find in the CMS), or should I redirect each page singularly? I believe the second is the best way, but I can't find headers and txt documents for each page in my FTP.
As well I have seen this post, in which is explained that canonical redirects can be done directly in the general header.phpย http://www.bin-co.com/blog/2009/02/avoid-duplicate-content-use-canonical-url-in-wordpress-fix-plugin/
Is it true? You have any suggestion?
Thanks!
Eugenio
Hello.
Thus anchor in backlinks is very important, I will not only worry about that. With this I mean you can have anchor as "read more" from a very valuable and authoritative website, which will be very important anyway. I will, in this case, not being able to decide anchors, improve my keyword (and similar) mostly ONPAGE, trying also to increment external forward links with the preferred anchor (which I can now choose) and internal linking from / to that page, still using the preferred anchor.
Otherwise, to get anchor you may want also try to ask the webmaster of the site you want the backlink from, to add your preferred anchor. If this is not possible, also try maybe including the whole code in a message to webmaster. You may be able to receive your wanted anchor. But as well, as far as I know, even anchor is very important, to have "read more" anchors may be useful as well, avoiding keyword stuffing in anchor.
Hope my thoughts are right, and may help you a little
Eugenio
Hello Tuzzel,
Thanks again you clarified me many doubts
I will keep you updated, I will amend those issues by today.
Do you think is more wise and better to try first deactivating the plugin, and after checking if there is any result, reactivate it and have canonicals for all /en pages? Or is better just to use canonical directly?
Thanks
