Is there really "keyword strategy" for sites with User Generated content? Any experiences?
I never use user generated content on its own. I always try to put some description besides like if it is a product than I give a brief about the product, where I can use it's name in the title, in the headings and maybe with a picture. The length depends on how much research would you like to do. Than in the end II alwas encourage people to share their opinion. I do it this way. I think that simply user generated content should be enough if you are targeting something so new, that nobody or really few people know exact things, everybody is rather just guessing about what is might exactly be or how should it work. In this case nobody will have long content with much keywords te beat you with.

Facebook likes for website OR FB profile page?
Gianluca said it very well, so all I'd like to add is: If you're asking in terms of RANKINGS (which will help you rank better?) use likes on your website. And be sure the proper Open Graph meta tags are installed on your page. The amount of Facebook Likes and Shares from your website can improve rankings. You can generate the meta code here. -Dan

Disqus commenst versus Facebook Comments
Hi, I'v been using disqus for a while now. Haven't seen any negative results from that. So the question fb comments vs. disqus would be reach. Facebook is the most used platform but you might loose some feedback because of reach. Disqus is compitabel with all major sosial sites.

Why traffic to my link has dropped suddenly?
Are there specific keywords you were ranking on that drove traffic to this page. I don't see that this page has many direct links, and it's not optimized for any popular terms, so I'm surprised that login form was getting much direct traffic. Is it possible your internal link architecture changed? Maybe you're pulling a ton of search traffic to the home-page, but it's not getting pulled through to the deeper page now? I'm also a bit confused, because Rediff.com is an outside site service. If you can explain what you were ranking for and dig into the specifics, that would certainly help. It also appears that you had some pretty strong social signals to that page. It's possible that those gave you a strong short-term rankings boost, but that it faded over time. The social signals aren't as long-lasting as permanent links.

Rel= Author : Google suggests that we include this. Can i link to my FB profile
REL = Author does not work that way. My understanding of the process is as follows: 1. An author sets up their Google profile 2. The author creates a link from their Google profile to their profile / about page on your site. 3. The author also creates a link from their profile / about page on your site back to their Google profile. By establishing this two-way link between their Google profile and their profile page on your site, they have verified their identity and control over the page's content. This link then allows any content created by the author ON YOUR SITE to be linked with the REL = Author idea. It would not impact content created on any other site. Official REL = Author Google page

New website :301 redirection of a established domain
Hmm, it's not a simple matter of just buying up domains and you have to consider a bunch of things: are the links to this site relevant to the new site (branded links etc) is the old site a safe bet? Has it got penalties etc if the site is valuable, why is it for sale? I remembered this article from ages ago but it pretty much hits the nail on the head: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/buying-expired-domains-whats-the-best-strategy Also, are you going to pick apart the old site and do specific redirects to relevant content on the new site or are you just going to funnel everything into the homepage with a catch all redirect rule? Again, if the other site was relevant and you could distribute the juice out to relevant places it would likely herald better results. I guess the best tip here is to buy a site that is relevant and to not expect miracles! Also, make sure this is done as a complimentary strategy to other promotion and not as a sole approach. Hope it helps Marcus

FB Like and G+ on page transferred ?
Far as I can tell, you will loose the Likes. This bug report has more info: http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=18198 From what I gather, if you leave the old URL in the button, it will continue to show the old count on the new page, but if someone Likes the new page it will count for the new page and not increment the old counter... I could be wrong, but that says to me that they are treating them as two separate pages, each with its own stats. I'm not sure how Google handles this, but if I had to guess, I would guess they are in the same boat. Someone else here may have more info on that though Brian
