Campaign Tagging (Medium) for Paid Social
Yes, thanks. We've also alked to a few campaign managers that work for agencies doing B2B (which is what we are), and we've decided to tag those links with medium=display. These would be for the ads appearing in the right column of most social sites (not the sponsored ones in newsfeeds).

Marketo Attribution in Google Analytics
Hi, Have you set up analytics tracking on the pages of your subdomain also? If you are using Universal Analytics then sub domain tracking should work as is - all you need to do is put the same analytics code from your main site in your subdomain landing pages and you should see the original referral data. I am not familiar with Marketo but if you set up the above and start seeing a lot of referral data to the subdomain which looks like mail clients (gmail, mail.xxx etc) then that would indicate that the tagging in the mail links is not set up well and in that case yes manually tagging them with utm parameters will work.

Page ranking in .com but not in .co.uk
Hey there, Not sure I'm seeing the same SERPs as you... Okay, for "terminology management" you rank 1st in the Uk https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1366&bih=683&q=terminology+management&gl=uk&pws=0 and #3 for "translation memory" https://www.google.co.uk/search?gl=uk&pws=0&q=translation+memory Notice that I use 2 additional parameters in the search URL, pws=0 removes personalization and gl=uk tells Google I'm searching from the UK. No offence to Maximillion here, but hreflang is not the right choice for you at the minute. If you start losing ground to UK based websites for these generic English terms, you can follow the previous advice but you'd have to make some really clever/complicated adjustments. From the current situation, you're in very good shape and you shouldn't need to do anything else.

Is it ok to use both 301 redirect and rel="canonical' at the same time?
Yeah, I'm with Alan - what works in theory and what works in practice can really vary with the site - if you do both at once and something goes wrong, you won't know which tactic was the problem. Even if it goes right, you won't know which one worked. Keep in mind, too, that 301s and canonicals have different purposes. They may act similarly for search, in some cases, but they're very different for site visitors. A 301-redirect will actually take the visitor to a new page. A canonical will let the duplicate URL be visited but remove it from search results. In most cases, one is more appropriate to your situation than the other.
