Hi there!

Thanks for writing in!  I checked your account it seems that the crawl was finished.  Various factors sometimes can affect the speed at which Roger will check out your site, it usually tries to be as efficient as possible and not take the scenic route, every once in a while he gets stuck trying to resolve something on the site (crossword puzzle maybe) which can cause the crawl to last a little longer.  We're constantly keeping track of how long the crawls take for our customers and try to come up with a better more efficient Roger!

If your next crawl is taking more than a day (24 hours), i would send us a ticket at help@seomoz.org.  Thanks again for writing in!

Thanks for reaching out!  That is interesting indeed that you aren't able to create a campaign for that particular domain.  I do notice that I had trouble at first, but I tried again immediately and was able to go past the no response screen and create a campaign. http://screencast.com/t/H2apiZb0tvB.  I have checked with our team and we are not seeing an issue with the crawler so far, however in the past our crawler have had trouble with pages that is missing a Robots.txt (404 when I checked it last) http://screencast.com/t/oacVSiHM3Nyf.  However as I have shown, our crawler will now crawl sites in the absence of a robot.txt.

There's a few reason why it could be not responding to our web request:

1. The uptime was sporadic when we made the attempt.
2.  Something on the server level is blocking our web service, which is provided by Amazon.

Unfortunately the problem is too sporadic, I will start a ticket for you on my end and let's see how my campaign comes back before we decide anything.  Hope that helps!

Generally with rankings, depending on the keywords you search for you could have fluctuations based on the push and pull of the sea that is the internet out there.  While I don't have a specific answer for this question about this question, I can say that our keyword difficulty tools is a great way to look at volatility of certain keyword/phases.  You can find more information here: http://www.seomoz.org/help/keyword-analysis,

That definitely looks interesting.  I started a ticket for you to go over the issues in a little more in-depth.   Roger is definitely acting a little strange, I want to take a better look at it to see if this is an issue on our end.  Once you get that email if you could go over what you were seeing before vs. now, I could give a better response on what is going on.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us!  Unfortunately there's no convenient way for us to stop a crawl mid-cycle once it has been initiated, at this time once you start report it automatically consumes a credit so there's not really a way for us to replenish the credits on the backend  Here's a couple of ways you can get around this if you need one in a hurry.

• In the campaign tool, you can initiate a simple dummy campaign that will initiate a starter crawl.  It is only 250 pages, however if you need something in a hurry it is not a bad choice.
• We offer 1 crawl test a day to our community members, it is very similar to a starter crawl where we craw up to 250 pages in your site. If you have a friend or colleague that's a community member, they simply have to log on their account to initiate this!
• If you have a PRO account, those credits replenish the next day, I think its a great excuse to finish that home improvement project you've been dying to do or spend time with family

Hi Jose,

Thanks for looking up this thread.  It looks like the issue wasn't with the site (that I know of) or our tool.  It's rather that we don't support non-UTF8 characters in our tools, which is causing that count to be off.

The issue lies in that we don't support slavic characters, so our on-page tool can only do their best to come up with "matches." So when we see that "уеб дизайн" our tool can't tell if that's a word/phase since Roger doesn't speak this language, it does what a non-speaker would do and do character matches instead.  So in that 9 character phase, we were able to find "matches" for each of the 9 characters on the page we paired up against.  So in that instance, they were seeing so many matches on that page.

Feature requests helps us out tremendously since it helps us prioritize our workflow and figure out what to build next.

Thanks for letting us know. It looks like your keywords are currently not ranking in the top 50. Our tools only crawl pages that show up in the top 50. You can manually create a report to show pages ranking lower than that. For details on how to manually generate reports please see: http://www.seomoz.org/help/on-page-reports

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us!  As far as I know Rogerbot is specifically directed not to crawl images, the only instance where I think it could crawl a image is if a link is directed on the page to the image and nothing else, in that case it would reference that as an error.  You can find more information about the crawl diagnostic here: www.seomoz.org/help/crawl-diagnostics

Thanks for reaching out to us!  I am a glad you asked that question.  As you know, the reporting function in OSE only gives 25 links/domain, that is a limitation that exist on OSE and any reports that are exported out of that platform.  Unfortunately exporting all links has been a challenge for us, one which we are currently working on expanding to provide better and more robust reports in the future.

If you need to find a way to get pass that, you can accomplish that in our Mozscape API, you can find out more information here: apiwiki.seomoz.org.

Thanks for reaching out to us!  That's a great question  What you are seeing in the keyword difficulty search is our tool using an exact match query into our funnel to pull your data, which is how our tool queries the search engines.  Since we don't do broad matching on our end, that's the reason you are seeing identical search volumes.  So while you are correct in using exact match quotations "." our system automatically assumes whatever you enter as exact match by default.

That of course I am seeing in some of the ranking results in your account, where small differences such as "woman" vs. "women" will pull up different results as the case that they are different words.  Since our tools uses exact match as a default there would be no need to use quotation or brackets to direct us to pull exact matches

Currently we do not have search volume as an integrated visual feature on the web app, you can however click on the individual keywords, which will then take you to the keyword analysis that will include the keyword search volume we pull from the search engine.  I can imagine though this process is very manual.  We really appreciate feedback and feature requests; they help us decide what parts of our software development to prioritize.
