Question regarding text on a website
Brian, i build websites with webpages that contain 500+ words or even 1250+ words with keyword density's close to 3 % and above and for the appropriate keywords they all rank #1. I also feel that you should talk about the things most important to you and stay focused on the subject. Another client of mine mostly talks about car specifics in stead of talking about what the tuning will do for the car. When i correct the page by keeping it on subject he immediatly ranks better. For my private websites i sometimes have webpages with only 100 words and some with over a 1000. They all are able to rank as high as i want them to. I also see competitors with only 100 words and some images ranking higher then i do for important keywords. I asked myself the same question you did. My advise: stay on subject. keep your patience and above all: don't dispair. Make sure you talk about usefull information, with some keywords in it and you should be doing just fine

Looking for an opinion on Buildmyrank.com
I may be one of the few here on the moz that actually use BMR. I will probably be looked down upon by the moz community but I will give you my honest opinion. BMR requires unique content. Yes, it only requires 150 words to get a link AND you can control the anchor text, but what is twitter? Twitter is a great example of a way that you can use a service for good or evil. I try to create every BMR article like it is a real article going to be read by an actual person (though I am aware it probably won't be). I will be the first to admit that people abuse BMR, just like they abuse twitter. Spamming isn't a tool, it is a strategy. All that being said, BMR is expensive, time consuming and NOT an anchor in any realistic strategy. If you are thinking more than 25% (random number I pulled from thin air) of your time and/or links are going to be spent using BMR, I wouldn't bother. The cost is another issue. I am debating whether it is really worth the money. I like using the service along side other more "white hat" techniques but it really can be expensive both in time and in money. It would probably take you 30min to an hour to write 5 BMR posts. Sure you can control the anchor text and you could even get a high PR from the links, but you would probably be better off spending that time getting a guest post. You still control the anchor (in most cases) and you can even control the PR (BMR randomly assigns you). PLUS if you are guest posting you are getting traffic from it and people are actually seeing your stuff. 5 BMR posts would be 750 words, that could also just be one awesome post with links being built off your post while you sleep! In summary (because I am ranting), I use it, but never at the cost of other link building strategies like guest posting or just lurking my competition and finding out how they got their links. Stay away from UAW, AMR, Scrapebox Blasts, SeNukeX, Bookmarking Demon etc. They are ridiculously expensive, work only in super low competition keywords (which you could rank for faster using guest posting or manual article submissions) and nowadays they only work to strengthen link wheels (which is another hot topic of debate around the forums). So, hopefully I didn't confuse you too badly, but if you have any questions about BMR the service itself let me know.

Best way to create deep links - Building links to inner pages
That's a pretty broad question, but two tactics that would work best, although by no means unknown, are internal linking and guest posting. Internal linking is basic, yet so freakin effective. Everyone says you should, but few actually do it correctly. Hopefully you have a blog. When posting about anything, and I mean anything, tie in those pages to your conversation. Don't just randomly link to them, but make sure you steer the convo towards the topic of those pages so you can link naturally to them. (And yes, internal links work. One of my client's competitors is ranking #1 for a money term that ranks solely on internal links. Frustrating, yes, but more importantly, learn from it.) Guest blogging is great in this instance because you're going for 30 different pages, which means you need multiple links from a single opportunity. In most guest posts you usually get at least two links in the bio, which you can use for any of those 30 pages, but like when doing internal linking on your blog, make sure you tie some of those pages into what you're writing about in the bulk of your post. For example, if one of your pages has some great information on biking helmet X, and in your post you're talking about biking, make sure you start talking about the different options you have for helmets, and say that one of these options is helmet X (which you link to). The blogger won't have a problem with this because it's on topic & relevant. Hope this helps! By no means is this comprehensive. You can go a number of directions, but since you're building links to a bulk number of pages, these two tactics would be the most efficient.

Selecting Google Custom Categories in Local Business
I've just endorsed Gyi's answer, but would also like to recommend that you use at least 2 of Google's pre-set categories if possible and follow these up with custom categories of your own choosing. And do stick to that rule of describing what you are instead of what you do. Good luck!
