Newly designed page ranks in Google but then disappears - at a loss as to why.
I think part of the problem you're seeing Michael is due to Google's preference for fresh content. It's more prevalent in some industries but I have noticed the rankings boost you get from it is temporary. It degrades over time.

Ranking and Indexing Issue
Hi Mike, I would suggest you add both versions of your website to the search console (i.e. www and non-www) and then set your preference to whichever you like, so that Google knows which one your prefer to be the main domain. I would also suggest shortening the URL, because it does look too long. Maybe you'd want to put the author of the quote instead of the actual quote or shorten the quote somehow. I'm pretty sure that you guys may publish some quotes with even more characters in the future which is going to be even longer than the existing one. Hence, I would rethink the URL structure. In regards to the rankings, don't worry just now as it really takes several weeks to get updated. Many Thanks, Dima
