Hi William, Thanks for your opinion - I must admit it still seems strange to me.  OK so they want to give the Twitter homepage more authority - but in doing so make it less likely that individual profiles get ranked?  Obviously they are aware that Google will index deeper pages anyway, as that's exactly what they are doing.  I know that canonical is a hint, but it seems pointless when they must get a load of value from profile pages. Would love to hear from somebody who has a really good idea of why - still a mystery to me! Thanks, Mark

Hi All, It looks like Google has setup a nice dev site and FAQ page to go over the options here especially when using AJAX and hash tags to link to hidden content. https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/docs/faq#whereinresults. It looks as if Google will be able to index the content of the entire page (hidden and initially shown) and not create a separate URL if you use a ! before the #. I'd read up on that FAQ page, and play with site commands on the Google dev site.

Thanks Crimson Penguin (really hope that's your real name!) I have used sitemapdoc.com in the past, only problem is it limits you to 500 URLs.  Really wish G Site would do a Mac version - same with Xenu, there's just nothing out there to do a job as well as those two on the Mac. Cheers for your feedback - hoping somebody else can come up with something golden?

AH!  You did it Keith - I thought clicking 'update' at the bottom would do it, but there's a little link hidden in some text at the top saying "rebuild the sitemap manually". Finally it's done, thanks so much for your help! Mark

Hi Keith, OK great thanks for the recommendation, I'll give it a try. Sorry to bother you again but have another quick question as I'm struggling to exclude child URLs from the sitemap.  Have posted another question here, if you are interested in answering yet another question! Thanks, Mark
