No external links showing?
+1 for GR. No one tool for any job. Id go on good and do a site:directory.com clientdomain.com search and see if it's indexing first. If it's indexing and you know it's there, then it's likely a matter of propagation. I used Moz, Majestic, ahrefs for any backlink review as each tool operates differently and a combination of all of them will give you a holistic picture. Good luck!

Traffic drop for all clients
Hello In my experience ,year after Year. Traffic always drops down a bit around october, It will drop down even more as we approach Thanks Giving and Christmas and New Years. The holidays can take a toll on personal computer usage as the upcoming spending will draw much attention.. E commerce sites and retail stores websites may see a rise in traffic as consumers shop for that perfect gift for a loved one.. However the end of the Holidays does not automatically bring back all the traffic, It remains little withdrawn until february and some cases march ..Recooperation ,They say...

Accurate rankings data? software? tools?
Addendum to this. You may actually want to look more at the pages you are targeting for those keywords and the amount of organic traffic going to that page. Why? This encompasses more than just what your ranking is, but are people clicking through. We have run experiments to change the meta description and looked at traffic vs ranking. While ranking and click through are related, they are still two different things. Finally, you have to look at what converts. I like to use Google's page value parameter. I can look at not only what content is ranking and getting traffic, but also what converts. I then use that to better plan my content or what content needs to be updated etc. Get your metrics to tie out to the bottom line and that is what really ultimately what matters. Cheers!

Mobile site backlinks?
Try to check the pages which are currently 1-1 - do the mobile friendly check for the desktop version. If it passes - you should be ok. If not - you'll have to hand it over to the technical dept & ask them to search for a solution. If necessary, escalate (depends on the % of mobile searches you currently have & the importance of the website for your business) rgds, Dirk

Affiliate marketing: yes or no?
I've been doing affiliate marketing since 2000 - when it really was a good solution for banner space (those things that used to get clicks) from smaller publishers long before a thing called Google came around. Now, candidly, I see it mostly as a pathway for parasitic marketing - with little to no benefit to you. Coupon and deal-site Affiliates will bid on your trademarks (even if you prohibit it) - and fight for your own organic SEO. Now, depending on what you sell, you might like getting a bunch of traffic from someone like retail-me-not, but keep track of how many customers are 'new' versus saw your coupon box and search for a coupon - used it for a discount, and then you paid a commission for that sale...? For us, we do it - but we try to focus on review sites; odd-sites where you never know where the traffic comes from; and then yes, discount and coupon sites - because we get more new customers than for what we eat on customers (I call it "round-tripping") being on your site, finding a discount code box, and then searching the web for a deal.

All of our clients are showing an increase in traffic from Brazil?
Hi! I would look at the source of the traffic first (they have to be coming from somewhere) or IF the site has injected codes. I've seen this happen before. Injected codes (invisible or not) then they spam you with links and traffic from different countries. Some country specific traffic gets more visibility hence more traffic from there. I hope it's not but it's better to be safe and check if you were hacked. I wont point at the competitor yet as that's a very minimal thing in terms of SEO. It just messes up your stats though.

Fullsite=true coming up as duplicate content?
Not sure what the "fullsite=true" for distinguishing mobile vs desktop is about.. can't you link to an article that describes this? As far as I know, Google cannot understand that. See Google's official suggestions for mobile websites here - https://developers.google.com/webmasters/smartphone-sites/details

Page 1 all of a sudden for two clients
Its guesswork, I've seen algo updates raise client's website traffic and it sticks - other times it drops back after a week or two. One of the recent patents purchased by Google was essentially to be able to change a websites' serp rank seemingly at random - specifically with SEOs in mind. Speculation says it's to possibly see how the SEO responds to the change - I would assume this is not the case and it's just minor updates that are jumping your ranks. I'd consider it a bonus for being awesome but since it jumped up I would not be surprised if it fell back down - also for no particular reason.

Multiple sitemaps for various media?
By DW do you mean DreamWeaver or DemandWare? I wouldn't build an XML sitemap in Dreamweaver, and I'm sure DemandWare would have a built-in tool for this. You can go to Google and search for "Free XML Sitemap Generator" or something similar and find a few good options. I use the one from Audit My PC from time to time still, but there are many others. The one below does include images and video, but I don't know if they segment them. Worth a try: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ .

Mobile site SEO: faulty redirects.. 204! help pls!
Hi Denise, A couple of points here. First, it's not that you necessarily need the same number of pages on your mobile site as your non-mobile site, it's that any content that you have on your non-mobile site should be represented somewhere on your mobile site. It's possible that your competitors are ranking with their desktop sites because they're targeting content that you are missing with your mobile site, and maybe on your desktop site as well. Second, yes and no. Your mobile site is a separate site, but if you connect your mobile pages to their corresponding desktop pages with rel=alternate and canonical tags, Google should transfer some of that link equity for you. Google breaks it down here: https://developers.google.com/webmasters/smartphone-sites/details Good luck! Kristina

Site redesign..have I done everything?
There's this Mozinar from Dana Lookadoo that'll give you a good insight into the steps involved when supporting a website redesign project. The worksheets are pretty awesome too: Stress-free Website Redesign for Search and Social Website Redesign Planning Template Preparation is key (which might not be the most helpful advice at this stage!)
