I'm still not sure you have a problem if I'm honest. If your actual site is fine, then purely providing an image off-site is not a classic 'doorway' website model so can't see why you'd be penalised for that, in my view, quite sensible practice.

Zachary : I believe Penguinn attacks for a lot LESS than the volume you're describing especially if there are few powerful links to begin with.

Great, thanks guys, will disallow those two pages in robots.txt.

Bots can burn through script... I don't think an extra line is  really a speed bump. .. but yes... always fun to test things.

Duplicate content is no longer a penalty reason - google will only decide who of them is the original source and list in the search engine results the appropriate source. Sometimes however the one that in fact is the one that did copied the content is getting listed first and the original source is getting down in search results.
