CSS background image links bad for seo?
We don't get a ton from image search and the images themselves aren't worth finding. The developers are coding like this for sitespeed reasons (I'd agree with it being "odd"). Thanks.

Ecommerce sites 30% drop in organic since the spring
Unfortunately, there was a lot of speculation around the unnamed February update, but not much solid data. Here's an analysis that SearchMetrics did: http://blog.searchmetrics.com/us/2015/02/08/google-brand-ecommerce-update-causing-fluctuations/ I've certainly seen confirmed data that some big sites got hit. When the signals are unclear, it becomes a task mostly of segmentation. Were specific pages hit? Were specific keywords hit? What's the pattern across those pages or keywords? Some quality issues are fixable, but these days, you run into situations where pages that probably shouldn't have ranked stopped ranking, and there isn't always something to fix.

Application/x-msdownload in crawl report?
Hi Joe, It looks like in this instance that tag is referring to a select handful of pages you have that have a 301 redirect on them and have oddly formatted URLs. I'll give an example without divulging any info about your site: Each instance of that is on a URL formatted as such: http://www.example.com/www.example.com/Sample-product-in-red.html Let me know if you have any more questions about that. If you'd like to discuss this in more detail you can drop us a line at help@seomoz.org and put ATTN: Joel in the subject. Cheers, Joel.
