Express Update Error: Phone Call Verification Looping
Hi Jason, While I've not personally experienced this bug, I can imagine how frustrating it is! I think it's issues just like this one that have contributed to the popularity and rise of paid location data management services (like Moz Local, Whitespark, etc.). The days of spending hours banging one's head against a monitor over a single citation source are, fortunately, numbered, due to the emergence of these tools which resolve most (though not all) verification problems. I wish I had a solution for you. You'll likely just have to keep phoning customer service until you can get someone to understand how irritating this bug is. Or, if you've run out of patience with the issue, consider the alternatives to manual management.

Best Methods and Tools for Monitoring your Website's Backlinks
Hi Ahrefs is definitely a better option than SEMrsuh for this, because it has a more accurate link database. SEMRush and Moz both have less link data, so Ahrefs would give you the most complete picture. I suggested SEMrush because it is free tool (sort of, 10 free requests per day + 10 with an account).

Top Local Organic Rankings, But Nowhere to be found on Google Snack Pack
Hey Miriam, That is interesting...and complex! Considering the location of the user at the time the search take place makes so much sense...especially for Google to rank them that way. Unfortunately, that also makes it harder to help clients who want to be in the top three all the time. Thanks so much for your time and insight. Kirk

Press Releases. What are the reasons (if any) that I should even consider them?
Hi Jason, This is something I can't really give a confident answer on unfortunately. Our list of clients these days don't really lend themselves to legitimate causes for a press release so we haven't done one in a little while. My best suggestion would be to look at them very closely before submitting and check for the usual quality factors (trust, authority, linking practices etc) and more importantly, try to find sites that actually have real traffic to amplify your efforts rather than just being launched into the ether to be seen by nobody
