Actually don't bother with this one, I figured out what I needed to know. Thanks!

SEO benefit of tracked URLs
I've found a lot of mixed info on this topic so I thought I'd ask the experts (Moz community).
If I'm adding tracking parameters to URLs to monitor organic traffic will this affect the rank/value of the original clean URL?
If so, would best practice be to 301 redirect the tracked URL to the original:
i.e. redirect www.example.com/category/?DZID=Organic_G_NP/SQ&utm_source=Organic&utm_medium=Google TO www.example.com/categoryThanks for your help!

It might also help to know that these are product pages and have pagination included.

Canonicalization help
Hi Moz Community,
If I have two different sub-category pages:
http://www.example.com/rings/anniversary-rings/
http://www.example.com/wedding/anniversary-rings/And the first one is ranking for all KWs, should I add a rel=canonical to the second URL or leave it since it's slightly different? Or should I try and create different unique content for the second URL?
Everything in terms of content is the same on both these pages except for the URLs, which aren't that different to begin with.
Thanks for your help!

Robots.txt help
Hi Moz Community,
Google is indexing some developer pages from a previous website where I currently work:
ddcblog.dev.examplewebsite.com/categories/sub-categories
Was wondering how I include these in a robots.txt file so they no longer appear on Google. Can I do it under our homepage GWT account or do I have to have a separate account set up for these URL types?
As always, your expertise is greatly appreciated,

URL spacing help
Hi all, easy question:
I have a client URL...example.com/giftbags that has been indexed for a while. Should I change the URL to example.com/gift-bags to separate these words for better KW ranking, or would the change be useless at this point?
Thanks,

One more redirect question
If there are two URLs like below:
example.com/toys/batman-toys
example.com/birthday/batman-toysBoth have the exact same everything, except URL key. The first example ranks for all KWs and search terms in the SEs. Does having the second page hurt my ranking potential for the first page? Should I redirect the 2nd page to the first or just leave it?
As always, thanks for your help.

Thanks Marty, exactly what I was looking for.

GWT 404 best practices
I'm getting back lots of 404 errors for old websites that are linking back to my current website. If the website content/anchor text has no relevancy to my current content is it still best practice to redirect to current home page, contact the web master to remove link or any other suggestions?
Not exactly sure if redirecting looks spammy since it's irrelevant content.
Thanks for your help!

Product page Canonicalization best practice
I'm getting duplicate content errors in GWT for product list pages that look like this:
-www.example.com/category-page/product/?p=2The "p=2" example already has a rel=canonical in place, " Shouldn't the non-canonical pages be using the canonical attribute for the first page rather than the additional product pages?
Thanks!

Hey Paul, that makes complete sense. Thanks for your help.

301 Redirect Best Practices
Hi SEOs,
Question about ranking/redirects. If I have a particular page that is already ranking for a couple KWs in top SERPs, but know there are higher volume KWs I can optimize for should I just leave it as is or change the URL key and redirect for the time being until Google re-indexes.
Example:
current URL: www.example.com/action/best-movies
new URL: www.example.com/action/best-action-movies
(the current would be ranking for "best action moves" whereas the new would include the actual "best action movies" KW)Let me know if I can clarify, thank you!

RE: Is it important to include image files in your sitemap?
Thanks Andy,
Would it be best to have all the img alt tags set up before adding site-map?

Is it important to include image files in your sitemap?
I run an ecommerce business that has over 4000 product pages which, as you can imagine, branches off into thousands of image files. Is it necessary to include those in my sitemap for faster indexing?
Thanks for you help!
