Currently the only way to know when you have reached your row limit is to monitor the API Dashboard - https://moz.com/products/mozscape/usage . You would then want to cease from pulling more rows for that month, or risk overage charges of $10.00 per 10k rows. Let me know if there are any other questions on this. I recently wrote a post for Moz/Blog that goes more in depth on integrating our data into reporting dashboards (the post focuses on Klipfolio, a Tableau alternative). Your best bet would be to integrate our Mozscape API with Tableau on the backend. Tableau doesn't have a stable of easy integrations,  however they do make API integration possible with their Web Data Collector tool.

I cannot speak to the count of inbound links that Google Webmaster Tools is reporting, but they are reporting far less than Moz and the other third party link indexing services. Without being able to dig into the link in your Webmaster account it is tough to say for sure, but within our index and others I am seeing a lot of follow links from site like Tumblr, Wordpress and Blogspot so there is a chance that Google is counting only one link where we treat each Tumblr or Blogspot subdomain as a domain and a link from that domain.

That is an odd one. Have you double checked that your code is still working as it should? I now you mentioned you have not touched the code, but bugs can seemingly arise out of nowhere. There is also a chance that the sites you are requesting data on have not yet been crawled and do currently rank as 0s. Would you mind sharing a URL that returns that data? Across the board there was been a shift in DA as we index more of the web. We are finding more links to all sites, but the relative number we find to those mid range DA sites is fewer than what we are finding to sites like BBC and NYTimes.

This normalizing of DA scores ensures that scores don't continue to climb just because our index size increases. Rather DA should climb when we find more new links to a specific site over others.

We are also very close on our Links via Redirect work, so some of these sites will see a nice bump in link counts once we are able to pass that equity from the redirects they have.

For 1, we are really close on our work to pass links via redirect. Once we have that work complete you will see those links automatically passed to the current page.

For 2, in our customer research phase of this project some folks wanted to see this type of comparison. We wanted to share as much data as we could in that table. This could provide some insight into how much content that site is looking to get indexed, or show that the site is not quite technically optimized.

I want to bring your attention to an update I just added to this post. It seems there were some unexpected issues with the index update we released yesterday and scores should not have been affected as dramatically as they were. You were right to question and I am very sorry for the shock.

Hey John,

Some issues arose around Spam networks and Tumblr sites skewing the distribution. Over the last 12 months, these two types of sites outperformed (i.e., gained links and linking plds faster) most 'real' sites. This caused sites outside of these to appear to be trending down in DA, relative to the performance of those other networks. This makes sense, because this is precisely what spam networks are designed to do so, and tumblr.com is currently treated as a TLD, so it's easy for tumblr blogs to gain large numbers of linking PLDs (because they're free to create and link heavily to one another).

We do need to get this normalization work added to the index, but we need to do so in a way that does not allow these types of networks to have too much sway in the distribution. We will ensure that the communication of that change is clear and easy to communicate to other stakeholders for users.
