How to market a brand when the brand name is constantly changing?
That is a tricky one. I would definitely have pages up for each at the start, but with different content, even if Im forced to invest further to make it more unique. Once the traffic for that brand name dwindles down, I would redirect it to the latest name. Depending on the competition level, if it's not too hard, I would just stick with 1 page but make sure to mention the old name on the body (and even on the meta details if possible) It can rank just as well. These are all assumptions. It's really a tricky position that needs to be analysed further.

Anyone have any insight on phone number tracking issues?
I would recommend using tossible digits then. Each number is only a few dollars a month, and they have an on site tracking system which allows you to see all calls, with dates, call duration, and time of call. Another benefit is you can enable email tracking, which sends an mp3 of the phone call to the email(s) of your choice once the call is over. Very affordable, excellent features. I think this would work better for what you are trying to accomplish. We have used them for 3 years now with no issues. Hope this helps!

Site Architecture: How flat is too flat?
I hear ya! I find one of the biggest issues ecommerce sites have with rankings has to do with their data. That and a lack of canonicalization to help Google figure out which are the money pages.

What is the difference between a "Just Discovered" link and an "Established" link in OSE?
Hey Gerard, Paddy's right that it can be about 4-8 weeks to see the Just Discovered links show up in the main index, but we also had a delay in this most recent update so the data is not as fresh as it normally would be. Normally, the data in the index is collected for about three weeks prior to the update, while the data for this index is probably closer to 6 weeks. Even so, we began feeding sites and links into the scheduler to be included in the next index well before we start collecting data. This means that, even if we found your links in Just Discovered links 6 or 7 weeks ago, those links might not have made it into the scheduler for this most recent update. They should be in the schedule for our next update, however. I would say that it can be several updates before you see the links from Just Discovered show up as fully established links in the index as a general rule. We are working on a project that will make the index update with much fresher data in the future. I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Chiaryn

Lowercase VS. Uppercase Canonical tags?
Thanks for the feedback, Federico! That actually helps a lot and also helps confirm what our programmer has just done (which is changed all the canonical tags to the uppercase URL). I guess now we'll play the waiting game and see if Google reduces the number or duplicates after it's next crawl. Thanks again!
