Will a robots.txt disallow apply to a 301ed URL?
I would that the example2.html wouldn't be affected by the robots.txt as it can be that a bot will visit example2.html directly without visiting example1.html. Definitely as it could be that the page was picked up after the first time it visited example1.html.

Code Monitor Recommendations
Not really no. I only use it per instance versus as a more constant change tool. If you have a dev in-house though they could probably setup something that runs on a virtual machine and sends reports on changes. Or you could run it after getting a change report from one of the other, more standard types of page change tools to see if the site is now making different HTTP requests as well.

Will Russia's New Data Protection Law Impact SEOs and SMBs Outside of Russia?
That's really interesting - I hadn't thought of the impact to the Ukraine, but that definitely makes sense. I think as you've highlighted, Google and Europe more generally is a tricky issue at the moment, what with the recent issues in Spain and the not-very-helpful suggestion that Google should 'break up'. In the UK, the chancellor has just announced a 'Google Tax' which will no doubt go down as well as the legislative changes in Spain. This article has a kind of doomsday scenario where Google pulls out of Europe, but I can't really foresee that happening. What do you reckon? It does worry me the way Google and Europe are colliding so much at the moment.

Language Usage for SEO in Hong Kong
My apologies for overlooking your response. A good tool is https://github.com/jpatokal/script_detector. It is a library for Ruby and you can use the interactive Ruby console (irb) to use the function to identify script in an easy way. If you need help/guidance with that drop me a reply here or by private message and I'd be happy to help.

Spotted Hidden Omiod Links in Footer - What do you think is Going on Here?
Looks to me like someone added some kind of SEO tracker to the footer at some point that no one else was aware of. Have you tried installing Ghostery and seeing if it shows up as a tracker? I agree with the other commenter that it is almost certainly not an SEO issue, and that you should be safe removing it.

Does a GTLD extension 'count' as part of the target keyword?
That's super helpful, thank you. My GTLD would be a brand term, perhaps the closest description would be 'B.bc' (if that existed) or The.times (again, if that existed). In these examples, would the URL be interpreted as BBC and thetimes or just 'B' and 'the'?

International SEO: What to do when you're using a ccTLD and want to go global
Hi Jimmy, Great to hear from you. My initial reaction is that it might be trickier to rank with the .co.uk, as well. Context wise, I hope this helps... this would be for a B2B website that sells into various countries, including the likes of Spain, Italy, Germany, as well as China, Vietnam, Thailand and more. Primarily we'd be looking to rank for our brand name in various different languages, e.g. simplified Chinese, Thai, German, all from a .co.uk. My initial suspicion is that a .co.uk may be trickier than getting a .com or country specific TLDs ranking (e.g. brandname.cn brandname.de), especially with Baidu which doesn't seem to have a lot of love for .co.uks. Based on this, would you stick with .co.uk, go global with a .com or country specific with ccTLDs for each target market? Holly
