Navigational Links in Dropdown Menus
No problem Trust me, you will love seo-browser. It makes it sooooo easy to see what is really going on behind the scenes. Hidden H1 tags, hidden content, h3 header tags in sidebars above first H1, all that good stuff. Enjoy

Heavy Weight Backlink not Showing in Google Webmaster Tool
If it shows in your analytics account as an incoming traffic source, they know about it. Have you linked out from your webpage or website to your new link? I would add a link on your site to that particular post, since it links back to you, and use fetch as Google to get them to recrawl your page. Couldn't hurt, and it only take a few minutes. And yes, it is common.

Homepage SEO: Does Text Content Help Traffic?
Hi Christoph, It's certainly true that there's a lot of room for improvement, even given the page you're working with right now. As Martijn notes, this image includes text that could be incorporated as HTML - whether you use image replacement, HTML 5, etc., a basic like this means that Google understands nothing about what the image is about / says. In general, creating a page with more "text" on it (or, more specifically, a page set up in a way that makes it easier for Google to understand all of its content) is beneficial. It may not make a marked, noticeable difference to traffic straight away, but the site / page has the likelihood to rank for more terms if you include all its terms as readable text.

Social Media Submitter
If you've never done it before then it's probably a good idea to get the word out. Although if you're going to be doing a lot of this in the future then you might want to start building up your own social media accounts.

Outsourcing Linkbuilding: Companies, Costs, Payment models
Hi Christoph, In today's world, I'd be very hesitant to outsource my link building to company that will guarantee a top page 1 ranking for a moderately difficult keyword. There are so many other factors to take into consideration. I'd also stay away from a performance based model - this may encourage the link builder/SEO to try various methods to get quick results. If you suddenly shoot up in the rankings with the usage of dodgy tactics, I wouldn't be surprised if your site took an even bigger drop a short time later. Google is really cracking down on webspam and problematic tactics, and I think you need to be a bit patient and let things go naturally. Currently, I'd advocate guest blogging and other forms of organic link building. Is the site currently ranking for the term? What is the backlink status of the domain? If you pay a link builder to optimize for one term, and neglect your branded anchor text and the backlink profile of the rest of the site, you can run into serious issues with the search engines that will be harder to resolve and will take more time and money than you had originally intended to invest. Hope this helps - just to clarify, I'm all for link building and organic growth in rankings. I just think you need to take a larger approach looking at your whole site, its onpage optimization and its backlink profile.

Two Links in one Article to One Domain
Assuming that everything else is equal (position on the page etc etc): The available "link-juice" will be split across all links. Both destination pages will benefit, but beware that the more links on the page, the smaller the individual share will be.
