Best way to boost ranking for most important keyword?
Thank you. I do work hard at getting quality backlinks which helps. I just started a google plus page for my blog so hopefully that improves my rankings as well. I have read about google author but I just don't feel comfortable putting my real name and picture out there....yet. I just ran a report card for the category page that I want to boost and that gave me a few ideas.

How do I get rid of crawl errors?
I haven't used a specific WP plugin which I could recommend, but I did a quick search and found the following which may work for you: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects/ As for whether it's alright to link some to your homepage, certainly. My recommendation would be to redirect to the page that is closest in topic to what your old page was about. If that's your homepage, that's fine. If you have category page that is related, that's better. If you have a page that is covering the exact same topic, that's best. Just choose the best option available. The other consideration is time. If we're talking about thousands and thousands of redirects, then you may just be best off redirecting to your homepage and saving hours and hours of work. Either that or outsourcing the work. Good luck. If you find a good plugin that does what you need, let us know what plugin you used.

Meta Title for Category Pages
Hi dealblogger, In the situation that you describe, what I would do then is separate out these items and make them two categories, one for maternity deals and one for pregnancy deals. Put all the maternity clothes and gifts under the first category and all the pregnancy pillows and prenatal items under the second category. This will enable you to land people searching for the right items under the right category. It will also enable you to focus traffic to the right part of your site based upon intent. Does that help answer your question? If not, let me know and I can try to rally some additional help. Cheers! Dana

Does this count as a backlink to my category page?
Dang, you are awesome. That helped a lot and I appreciate it. Today I am working on cleaning up my category pages and making sure everything is filed properly. I am really happy to hear that getting backlinks to a blog post in one category will pass value to the category. Thanks!

Maintaining or improving keyword ranking
Thank you. The guest blogging idea is great but will be a challenge. I haven't started with social networking yet but it is on my TO DO list. Can you get me a little more info on power internal links? I have a signature item that goes at the bottom of every post. It encourages readers to sign up for the newsletter. Should I have a link there to the category page as well? It is my MAIN category - it basically contains all my blog posts.

When do the "just discovered" links on Open Site Explorer count?
Unfortunately I'm not able to provide you a specific timeframe when links from Just-Discovered Links would appear in the Mozscape index. From the blog post linked above, Mozscape has it's own crawl scheduling timeframe. Because of the time it takes to identify links, schedule, crawl and index them, it will typically be several weeks before links will appears in the Mozscape index. The high domain authority of linking domains will help ensure the links are included in the index, but do not help in speeding the process of getting links indexed. I hope this helps!

Does it help to have more than one backlink from the same website?
If the website is great then there is no problem! You get 2 backlinks from CNN, now if you have a choice to get one more... will you reject it? Other than the fact that link helps in getting better rankings... links also drive referral traffic to your website which can also convert in to leads and sales....so if the website is good and can drive traffic... then I would say go for it!

Are tags important for SEO?
Hey there - I'm going to weigh in and just concur basically with Paul. Also just like to add a link to the wordpress resource post I did on Moz which breaks down a lot of the distinctions between tags and categories. Hope that helps too. Link

How do I redirect a page that no longer exists?
I see. Yes the 301s are just within my own site. Whew that makes me feel better. Ok since I said I was using Wordpress in the OP, I figured CMS meant something else. Good to know. I will check out that link, thanks!
